Oaklee is now a month old, which is difficult to believe. It has been an incredible month full of nursing, cuddling, and not much else - which equals heaven in my book. As Oaklee continues to grow I’ll be staring at these beautiful newborn photos taken by Heather Pickett Photography. If any of you are looking for a newborn photographer in the SLC area, I highly recommend her.
Each of our boys have taken a picture with this necklace,
(here and here) I couldn’t resist throwing it in with Oaklee one last time.
After talking with Heather for a little bit, we discovered she was working as a PICU nurse at Primary Children’s Hospital while Preslee was there, and remembered our story. It’s such a small world, isn’t it?
While at her studio, Heather recommended I relax on the couch (even take a nap) while she worked. When I received the pictures just a few days ago, I was completely blown away with this last picture. Isn’t it beautiful? I feel like it expresses exactly how we feel about Oaklee being a “rainbow baby.” A “rainbow baby” is a baby born following the death of an older sibling. A bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. And though Oaklee will never replace her older sister, (we wouldn’t want her to) she certainly has brought a sweet and unique spirit into our home, which we will be eternally grateful for.
We love you Oaklee.
She is such a Sullenger baby! I love it! And that last one? Breathtaking.
