I honestly can’t believe I have less than 10 weeks to go in my very last pregnancy! The latest I’ve ever made it to is 38 weeks, so maybe only 7 more weeks?
We’ve had an eventful summer which has kept us busy and helped me forget (at times) that I am expecting. This has been by far my best pregnancy, which I’m certainly grateful for. In the past, I’ve always had 5+ kidney stones each pregnancy, but this time around, I’ve only had one. A lot of symptoms I have related to pregnancy turn out to actually be related to kidney stones. So if you get kidney stones, start taking magnesium, it will literally change your life :)
At 28 weeks I passed my glucose test! (Hallelujah!) I failed with the twins, so I was worried, but my doctor has been monitoring me from the beginning, and felt I would be just fine. Gestational diabetes is much more common while carrying twins. I’m so glad I can continue to eat cereal :)
I also learned I was anemic, and after taking an iron supplement each day, I can’t believe how much energy I have now! I can somewhat keep up with my boys again.
Just like my other pregnancies, I carry straight out. But following a twin pregnancy, I seriously look like I’m already 40 weeks pregnant. Confession: sometimes I stretch the truth about my due date, just to avoid the “Oh my goodness! You look like you are already going to pop! You must be due any day right?” conversation. I’ve had multiple people gasp when I turn around in a store, and they exclaim, “I couldn’t tell you were pregnant from behind, but you must be due any day!” But at each appointment I’m measuring right on, and she looks great.
(Ledger snapped this picture while I was sitting with the twins in timeout. This is Cannon’s preferred resting place)
The last couple of weeks we moved the twins out of their room and I’ve been working on decorating for a girl. I repainted our crib and dresser white (I should have painted earlier on to save my back!) and can’t even begin to explain how fun it is to walk by and see the color pink in our house again. My heart is full, and cannot wait to meet this little girl. Now, all we need is to figure out a name. Any suggestions? This is by far the most we’ve ever struggled!
We can’t wait to meet this little girl, end of Oct/Nov can’t come soon enough!
Based on your current pattern of Celebrity last names.....here are some girly ones....Monroe, Gable, Garland, Hope, Jolie, Lane, Quinn, Reese, Sinclair, Temple, Winslet
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment! It made me smile. It's funny how we've ended up with celebrity last names for our kids! The thought had never occurred to me until we were naming the twins, and I purposely picked Cannon, thinking I was breaking the trend, and then at the hospital my brother pointed out Nick Cannon. ha I've been debating now if we want to follow up with the same trend with our last or not. Some of those are really cute, thanks for the suggestions!
DeleteQuinn could have special meaning as your 5th child? I know someone who named her son Quincy as he was her fifth (and last) pregnancy after having a miscarriage, a still birth, a daughter and two sons.
DeleteWhat about Aniston, Tatum, or Hilton?
DeleteYour comment about stretching the due date made me laugh! I'm 35 weeks this week and have been doing it since about 30 weeks. Kinda putting my own desired due date instead of the actual.
ReplyDeleteAnd we have struggled with girl names too! We ended up picking a nickname we liked and then finding family name that the nickname came from. Boys are so much easier!
Looking good! I'm glad you're feeling good too. I was able to help my daughter and son-in-law name two of their sons so maybe one of these names will help you too! It's quite a list...here goes: Kaya (or Kaiah), Cassandra (Cassie or Cassia), Brynn, Amaya, Harper, Noelle, Priscilla, Hope, Alyssa, Ariana, Everly, McKenna, Rayna (Reina), Elaina, Ashlynn, Serenity, Mallory, Faith, Kara, Emery, Avery, or Lanora. Good Luck! I'm sure you'll come up with something you'll love.
ReplyDeleteI do some writing under a pen name and my pen name is Emeri. Avery is also gorgeous.
DeleteStefanie is a great name! LOL!!! Really it is, plus if you name her after me I will move to Utah and babysit for free and forever! LOL!!!! I also love Gwen. You look great Ashley! I can't wait for you to meet your new daughter.
ReplyDeleteOh... I'm so happy for you guys. I can't think of a first name right now.... but I think her middle name should be Preslee. <3
ReplyDeleteI like the name Harmony
ReplyDeleteThe meaning of the name “Harmony” is: “A Beautiful Blending”.
I also like Leslie
The meaning of the name “Leslie” is: “Meadowlands, Holly Garden”.(As if Presley hand picked her from her Garden for you)
My daughter just named her baby girl, Iva Lorraine.
ReplyDeleteAshley you look radiant. All the best with the birth and I look forward to your next post when your beautiful little family welcomes a new addition. xxxx
ReplyDeleteMy cute niece just named her baby girl Kadence. I also like Lottie, short for Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is Georgia. And after years of doing occupational therapy with her because of handwriting issues, I wished we'd named her Ava, Eve or Eva as those names are short and angular!! My favourite girls names are Laura and Eliza. If my son was a girl he would have been Eliza. When we couldn't use it two of my girlfriends did for their daughters.
ReplyDeleteMy girls are Brylin, Paisley, Channa, and Tycee so obviously those are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI am biased, but my favorite girls name is Aubrielle. (It also took my husband and I forever to agree on this name for our only daughter...boys were way easier for us.) You can shorten Aubrielle to many nicknames (Brielle, Elle, etc), but we use Aubrie for every with our daughter...though she just started preschool and has insisted her new friends call her Aubrielle. :) So excited for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Luna or Lainey
ReplyDeleteAlicia or Alesea, Elycia, Elyce, Lauren, Grace, Ila, Evonne.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the very best. Love seeing your cute little boys growing up and can't wait to see photos of your gorgeous wee baby girl. Here are a few suggestions from down under: Jordyn, Hartley, Aspen, Taylah, Summer, Sienna, Paris, Coco, Zali, Tehya/Tia. With all my best wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteIm so excited for you and cant wait for her arrival. I know she will bring you all so much joy! I may be biased but I love the name Malley! :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you to experience PINK and a girl again! I swear it will continue to heal your heart to have pink again..I hope you'll feel extra connected to Preslee with her little sister here.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to chime in that I LOVE Monroe above...cuz it's not something I've heard and it seems so sweet. I also recently did newborn photos for a baby girl named Penelope...and I wouldn't have given that name a thought...but man it was so fitting and beautiful with this sweet babe. Good luck...oh and you are gorgeous btw.
I love Faith, Hope, Grace, Elizabeth and Madeline. One of my twins is Meredith Faith and I would have done Faith first but all of our other kids names start with M so had do keep it going.
ReplyDeleteHumm, I like Tatum or Teigen. Going with the celebrity last name theme :)
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable. I love reading your blog. I love that you are such a wonderful parent without making it seem like everything is easy and go lucky. Parenting is hard and yet through your posts you can tell that you love it. Congrats on your little one coming soon. I hope delivery goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteLove this post for so many reasons. Just want to wish you all the best, best of luck Ashley Sullenger.
ReplyDeleteWe have an Avery, Harper and Finley. All last names - not on purpose Love keeping up with your sweet family!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! So excited for you! Wish you all the best! I love the name Perri for a little girl! Good luck picking out a name, whatever you choose will be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I'm sure big sister is beaming from above watching all her little siblings. I'm with the other couple of people who suggested Monroe, I love that! Never would've thought of it before but I think it's very unique and does go with your "theme":) Harlow's pretty but think it's got sort of trendy lately.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing and sheesh, with it being your 5th child, even more amazing! Even if it was your first preg. you'd still look amazing!
Such exciting times. You are an amazing mama. The boys are getting so big and they all look so handsome in their dressy clothes!! They will be the best big brothers to your new little miss. Can't wait to see photos of her and find out the name you pick. Congratulations and best wishes on your 5th and last baby. You have bookend girls, your sweet angel Preslee as your first baby and your new baby girl as your last. You have a beautiful family. :)
ReplyDeleteHow about something really classic and not so trendy? (There must be millions of Harpers out there!) Elizabeth, Kathleen, Virginia, Mary, Julia . . . but whatever you name her, she will be a treasure and a blessing.
ReplyDeleteAshley....
ReplyDeleteIf Baby Girl is born in October, then you can name her Opal!! For she will be your precious gem!! Besides, opal is October's birthstone!! Plus, it's a lovely old-fashioned sounding name!! But if Baby Girl arrives in November.... ;)
However. If you want to keep the celebrity last name trend going, I like Jolie!! Or what about Scialfa? {As in, Bruce Springsteen's wife's maiden name?} It would be kind of hard to pronounce, but other than that.... ;-D
Good luck!! ;)

I was thinking something that honored your first bundle of pink, maybe starting with a P...and I LOVE the name Joy for a middle name. What brings greater joy than a baby? So here are a few of my favorite P names staring with my favorite...
ReplyDeletePiper Joy
Penelope Joy
Pippa Joy
Polly Joy
Phoebe Joy
Paige Joy
Pia Joy
Whatever you chose, it will be perfect just for her!
I love all of these.... Our rainbow baby has the same intials as our child who died. Same gender.. It has brought our family much happiness and a connection to our lost little one....

i think the name Ezrie is sweet and unique:) Congrats on the upcoming arrival of baby girl. Thanks for sharing your blog, your family is inspiring!
ReplyDeleteMy boy is Ezra so I love this name for a girl.
DeleteHow about Rayne its different, your boys are growing so fast there all adorable..cant wait to see pictures of your new little one...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite girl name so far has been Aria Noelle. My second favorite was Avigail, similar to Abigail but different. Just thought I'd share. I've been following your blog for a while :)
ReplyDeleteI am so Happppy for you! My friend just had her rainbow baby, her name is Hope. I like the idea of Joy for a middle name, a very long time ago I knew a sweet girl named Blessing. Because she was. Prayers for a safe and Healthy delivery. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! I love Quinn and Zoe. Best of luck as you head towards delivery. Your lil men are oh so handsome.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the game but I have to throw in a name (and rhyme apparently). When I was pregnant we knew we wanted an N name since there aren't ANY on either side of our families. So we picked out Nixon or Nola. We had a boy, so Nixon it was! And now we can't have any more so I'll never get to use my girl name and have since harassed everybody else who is having a girl to take it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you guys!
How fun! I haven't been on the internet for a while and I always love reading your posts. As for names, they are so hard to suggest because name opinions are so personal. But, we have a little girl named Audra Belle. We named her that name before we found out she had a great great great grandmother with the same name. She keeps telling me she's going to have a sister someday. She has five brothers instead. She's already named her sister, a few names. Tabitha, Mercedes, and the boys like Astri, who is Roald Dahl's little sister, who past away when she was young. They read the book, Boy, and fell in love with that name.
ReplyDeleteMy girls are Mallory & Harper. We both loved Parker but our last name is a P and we didn't want a "PP". :-) My husband's favorite names are Reagan & Camille. Also love Corinne. Good luck! And I may be too late to the game for real....
