When someone dies, there’s a list of things that need to be accomplished for the family members left behind. Each list varies, and tasks are preformed at different times.
Preslee’s list—well, it’s almost finished.

Can you believe it? Only one item left. The blanket is nearly finished, and I am in love. I can’t wait to show all of you. It turned out better than I imagined it would. For all of you thinking about making one for yourself, do it! I’ll share what I learned when it’s finished.
There’s mixed emotions to be finishing up my list. On one end It feels like a weight has been lifted, but at the same time, it feels so…final.
Also, the winner of Chirp Chirp Designs Giveaway is Lacey McKee! Hurry up and e-mail me, and we’ll get things going!
I can't wait to see it....I want to make one that has some of my husband's clothes and patches and stuff on it. I'm sure it must be so hard to have that checklist done. I wish I was that close....so many of my husband's things to put away still and worry about - what to keep, what to throw away, what to give away. My husband and both parents died within a 7 month period 5 years ago....I'm still in shock about it but life goes on, doesn't it? We have to keep moving forward (it's kinda funny when people would say that to me "you have to move forward, I'd say OK but where do I go??). Now I know that giving up and being sad all the time isn't the answer. It's relying on God and our Savior to help us, it is relying on family and friends to hold us up and give us courage, it is praying, hoping, having faith, and trusting in the Lord that helps us get to a place where we can be happy again, in spite of our loss. You are someone who has given me lots of encouragement and hope. You have brightened many of my days with your wise, funny, inspiring posts. I love to see pictures of your cute family and the fun things you do with your children. You are an example to many of us. Thank you Ashley!!
ReplyDeleteI still can't face cleaning out my daughter's room, and it's almost been two years. I really like the blanket idea. Not sure I could do it myself though. I look forward to seeing how Preslee's turns out. Thank you for sharing these personal moments and feelings, you inspire so many.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to do this for my sweet Braxten's clothes. I can't wait to see Preslee's and hear all about it!
