Patrick – Is staying busy with school and city council. He was recently called as a gospel doctrine teacher, and was thrilled to be invited by his dad to watch a Boise State game in Boise.
Pat and Cruiz
Ashley – There’s not much to tell here. My life consists of dirty diapers, doctor appointments, and sleepless nights. My mom comes to the rescue multiple times a week, she even takes Ledger home with her once in awhile to spend the night. Highlights over the past month include attending a baby shower and a Mindy Gledhill concert at BYU-I.
Cannon, Cruiz
Ledger – This kid went from saying only a few words, to having a conversation practically over night. He loves when Grandma Siddoway comes to visit, and even more when he’s dropped off at her house without babies. He has a fascination with letters, numbers, and shapes, and is terrified of tigers. He’s woken up multiple times in the middle of a night telling us a Tiger was in his bedroom…He has definitely developed a vivid imagination.
Cannon, Ledger
Cannon & Cruiz – One word…colic. Oh my goodness, they are by far our most difficult babies, and there’s two of them. Last check up Cannon weighed in at 11 lbs. 1 oz. and Cruiz at 10 lbs. 9 oz. They are fattening right up, just the way we like em’. When they aren’t crying, their older brother has a hard time keeping his hands off them. As difficult as it is, it sure is going to be fun having three boys so close in age. (I keep telling myself that anyway)
(Cannon, Cruiz)
Ledger is such a cute little boy and those babies are precious. I know it must be hard but I do appreciate you taking time to post about the boys. Thank you. I just love hearing about them.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with the fun of having them close together - my two are 14 months apart and once the youngest reached the age of being able to walk around and actually play, the boys became best friends and it just keeps getting better. Sure, there are days they fight like brothers but they also always have someone to play with. I wouldn't change it for the world!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family Ashley. Yes, keep telling yourself that this phase will pass and one day you will say to yourself, "Wow, this is so fun to have these three boys!!" Right now they are high maintenance as most little babies and toddlers under 4 are but the time goes by so quickly....you'll blink and they'll all be outside riding their bikes or playing in the dirt or running after each other. It will be a fascinating, exciting, and wonderful time in your life....but for now, just take a deep breath and keep smiling!!
ReplyDeleteAll of your children are so beautiful! Ledger is the spitting image of Pat and Preslee, Cannon and Cruiz look so much like you. I see so much of her in them. I can't imagine how hard it must be right now with two babies and a toddler but you are doing a wonderful job. Your babies are so lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteI had a colicky baby, and thought I would never have my sanity again! I SO empathize with you! My advice would be to take the babies to a chiropractor who is comfortable working on babies. After just one 3 minute appointment, my baby was a different child. There was absolutely no pain for him, he actually slept through the appointment, and slept all the way home!!! That never had happened before, and I wish I had known earlier to take him to the chiropractor. Life has been so great ever since!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness those babies are the cutest! more pics please!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love their names, especially Cannon. One of my babies had Colic. Nothing worked until we used NUTRAMAGEN by Enfamil. The symptoms changed within about 24-42 hours and it was a miracle. It would definitely be worth a try. It's a little expensive but worth every penny! Hope this helps
ReplyDeleteI second this! Our daughter was hospitalized at PCMC when she was 4 weeks old, and at that time she was also diagnosed with a milk/protein allergy. She would scream/cry and claw at her face until we switched her to Similac Alimentum. Insurance may help pay for it too and their pediatrician may have samples you can try so that helps also. It took a while to adjust, I'd say 2 weeks, but it was well worth it not to have her in pain and for us to get some sleep :) Good luck and hang in there!
DeleteYes, alimentum formula was so great for our colicky baby! Expensive but so worth it!
DeleteIt will get better! I had 2 colicky babies out of 5 kids and I can't IMAGINE having had two of them at once!! But it does get better :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family! Hang in there! I remember "the witching hour" for my twins was around dinner time. I hope they're better soon! It's so frustrating when you can't do anything to make it better. I remember the weeks seemed to pass quickly, but sometimes those minutes, hours and days could be REALLY long. A long distance hug!
ReplyDeleteIf you survive colic with twins the rest is a breeze! It's actually true it just gets better each day! I have done and it is so true! Hang in there. Take all that help!
ReplyDeletewhen the picture came up of your husband with Cruiz (on facebook), I instantly thought it was an old picture of him with Preslee. Cruiz looks so much like her in that picture! You are doing great!! Things will get better!!
ReplyDeleteBy any chance does your husband snore? I was terrified of tigers at night when I was little. My mom told me that whenever I wake up and hear that sound I should know that daddy was at home and taking care of us and I could go back to sleep and feel safe. Snoring has never bothered me since then.
ReplyDeleteI agree with kk above. More pictures please
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI feel for you! I second the chiropractor! Also, see if you can find a physical therapist or an SLP to take the little guys to. My littlest little had nursing issues and my sister's son had colic/reflux issues (NON-STOP crying in his carseat) and we took them both to a PT. Within a few sessions both of our babies were much better-it was a miracle! Find one that specializes in cranio-sacral work and they should be able to help. I wish I had known about it when my husband and I were taking 3 hour shifts sleeping with my colicky first son! Hope you get some relief and some sleep. :)
You are AWESOME! Just want you to know that!!
ReplyDeleteI have two boys 1 yr and 6 days apart. Life is never boring with boys! They will be best friends but enemies too!
ReplyDeleteI so thought the picture of pat and cruiz was preslee and pat! You lucky ducky your mama lives so darn close!! You look pretty cute for a sleepless girl running around in the day after a crazy 2 year old
ReplyDeleteAre your twins identical? They sure look like it.
ReplyDeleteCruiz looks so much like preslee!
ReplyDeleteI love all 3 of those sweet boys :) I cannot wait to see Cruiz & Cannon grow like I have gotten to see Ledger grow! I love how much Ledger has been saying lately... The little videos have been so darn cute :)
ReplyDeleteThose boys are so cute! I have a friend tha tis really into essiental oils and she swears by rubbing lavender on the tummy of a colic baby. She uses doterra oils; some thing to consider :)
ReplyDeleteMy little grandson cried non-stop from birth; many people said he had colic. When he went for his well-baby pediatrician visit, the doctor thought instead of colic, perhaps his crying was due to reflux. Apparently many newborns have reflux and it causes much pain and discomfort...if you've ever had heart burn, you know how miserable it is. She prescribed a small dosage of a liquid Previcid every day and prop the head of his crib up a little (with a rolled up towel beneath the mattress ) and it was a life saver...for the first time, he was able to sleep and was a changed baby from then on. After he was out of the newborn stage...after a few months...they were able to stop the Prevecid and he was fine from then on. Just thought I'd mention it...
