Cannon was doing great and there was no reason to keep him any longer, so after staying 9 days in the NICU, we were able to take him home on July 26th.
Grandma Siddoway stayed with Cruiz as we left. Good thing, because I would have bawled the entire way home leaving him by himself.
Ledger was waiting in the car with Grandpa, and as we drove off in our new minivan, (Yay! I love it) Ledger kept looking at me like, “What the heck is that, Mom?” He repeatedly said, “That one” and “Na nights” the entire way home.
Once we made it home, Ledger was thrilled with a new little play buddy. He proceeded to find every truck and choo choo to share with his little brother. We couldn’t turn our heads for a second, because all of his toys would be piled right on Cannon’s face. Ledger has been awesome with him, and has done much better than we expected.
I still can’t believe it’s taken us 4 1/2 years of us being parents, and 4 kids later to be able to watch two of them interact with one another. But now that it’s finally happened, we feel incredibly blessed.
Welcome home Cannon.
That last photo of Ledger peeking in at Cannon is precious! You guys are very blessed that your NICU allows visitors without you being there. When my twins were in our NIC the rule was 2 people max bedside, and one of those two had to be a parent. No one was allowed by them without a parent present. I like the safety and security of that, however, I wish we could have had some sort of VIP list for grandparents to get in without us.
ReplyDeleteThat is such wonderful news. Everyone home, safe, happy!!! I love the picture of Cannon in his carseat....his little face all scrunched up like he's a bit worried!! Well, no worries!! You have a cute family and those boys....well, it will be fun to see them grow and become buddies.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet photo's! God is so Good!!!
ReplyDeleteHe has some LONG skinny legs! So glad to hear you got a minivan!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for all of you! Thanks for allowing us to follow your journey. xo
ReplyDeleteAshley, Congrats on the arrival of your adorable boys! What a beautiful family. I have followed you for three years now and love to keep up on your growing family. Your boys could not be cuter!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post. They are going to be the best of friends with an awesome big brother and the most beautiful Angel in heaven watching over them. I am so happy families are forever. Welcome to the MoM club. Moms of multiples rock! My twin boys are five now and your pictures bring back sweet memories. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYAY! Soooo glad you are all home and healthy. I love it when prayers are answered so obviously and immediately. I don't know if they are identical, but if not they look soooo much alike! A friend of mine had twin boys that were identical and they tried to always put them on the same side of any posed pictures. That way when they looked back they would know who was who! Some other friends have identical twin girls and they had their hair braided the same yesterday (age 9) and totally got their Dad...he called them the wrong names...cracks me up! Enjoy this wonderful, exhausting, time...they are going to grow way too fast! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteSo, SO precious. I am so happy for you. It kinda sounds like Ledger is saying Cannon in the van video...
ReplyDeleteWell done ! You have beautiful boys, a wonderful husband and you are a top lady ! Enjoy the time at home with the babies - bound to be tiring, but so rewarding too.
