How far along: 34 weeks 5 days
Weight Gain: 22 lbs
Symptoms: Nausea. I have been incredibly sick. Cramping. Headaches. Very strong contractions, babies have dropped, things are getting a little more serious around here.
Movement: The babies have been sitting more on the right side of my stomach almost the entire pregnancy. This last week the shifted into the middle, feels like they are starting to position themselves for labor.
Sleep: This subject is pointless to discuss. Between two babies kicking and hard contractions, I’m up most of the night. The last few nights I’ve been awake for good by 4 AM. Luckily my mom rocks and has taken Ledger the past two days so I can rest and try to get some sleep.
Names: We are down to three. We both agree on one, and are both leaning towards a different one. I keep flipping back and forth, so who knows what baby B’s name will be.
Big Brother: I’m pretty sure Ledger can sense big changes coming his way. He’s been a little more difficult than usual, and I think a lot of it is due to an immobile mom. But I sure do love the kid.
Baby update: Things have gotten more serious. I was given 2 doses of a steroid shot to help stimulate lung development. It takes 48 hours for the shot to fully work for the babies. Both babies heart beats were monitored, and they looked great.
Gestational Diabetes: The steroid shot can affect insulin levels, and throw off blood sugar levels. I was told to be careful, but I’m okay to eat normal again.
I’m trying to hang in there as long as I can!
GOOD LUCK!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE BABIES!

I can not wait to hear the names!
ReplyDeletenow is when it gets "hard". Just the waiting game and trying to keep those little guys in there as long as possible without killing you! :) Been there, done that. I am sure your doc is amazing, but make sure you are watching for all signs of preeclampsia. That is what I had the last couple of days before I delivered and it got very serious, VERY fast! And it all started with me feeling sick. So please be VERY careful! :) I am so excited to see what your new little guys look like!!!! Good luck and you can do this!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletekeeping your family in my thoughts and prayers at this time as big changes are about to happen for everyone!(so exciting:) Hope all goes well with the delievery and safely getting the babies here! Sending love from Utah, Charlene
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family! <3
ReplyDeleteYou're so so close! You are such a good mom, and I promise, Ledger will be just fine. Kids come in the order they come for a reason...he will be an awesome big brother, and even though the first little bit may throw him for a loop, he'll be fine. Good luck with everything!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry...I'm signed in under my husband...this is Tiffany :)
ReplyDeleteI'll keep you in my prayers! Here's hoping that all goes well with the labor - whenever it happens - and that both "beebees" will be healthy!
ReplyDeleteYou have done so amazingly well. 35 weeks is sheer perfection, so when you hit that mark the steroids will have done their work and you can have these boys! Good luck with these sweet babies. God bless you and may you feel Preslee Jo hold your hand as you bring these new lives to earth.

So exciting! I love your blog, and have been following it for a while. Both of my boys were born at 34 weeks and they were both perfectly healthy...just needed a little bit of time in the Level II nursery to master eating and gaining weight. You've done a great job keeping two in for so long. I'll be awaiting the news!
ReplyDeleteWow! Way to go Mom! You have done amazing! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!
ReplyDeleteI suspect things are going to happen soon. Hope I am right for you so your discomfort will soon be a thing of the past. I'm the Mum of a 31 wkr and a 37 wkr so I know what it is like to feel like a ticking time bomb. Will send positive vibes and prayers for physical strength and patience your way!
ReplyDeleteso exciting! what a great mommy you are... i cannot wait to read the news of these handsome little guys being born! praying for you!!
ReplyDeleteI talked to a mom of 10-month old twin boys and a two year old boy, of course I thought of you. You are really doing something amazing and apart of such a divinely organized plan of creation. Such a gift to be apart of Heavenly Father's creation process. Been thinking of you this past week. Hang in there, your boys are almost here!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you!!! I don't often read blogs but I'm 31 weeks and 1 day pregnant with B/G twins and have been constantly on the internet looking for information about other people's experiences. This is my third pregnancy - I have a 3 y.o girl and a 20 mo old boy :) these last weeks are going to be hard, I've had terrible reflux and indigestion, and everyday it gets more tiring just to walk up the stairs! I hope I can make it long enough so babies don't have to be in NICU. I really hope everything goes well for you and babies, I'll have to check back and read your story! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck Ashley! I'm sure those little boys are enjoying those last few days of learning with their big sister Preslee before they leave her Heavenly presence and join your family. Take the opportunity to enjoy the quietness.
ReplyDeleteYou're in the HOME STRETCH! Every day is such a victory and every day gets a little bit more difficult, right?! But before you know, you'll have those little boys in your arms and you'll wonder how you ever did it...that was me, and it helped me to think about that when I was at this point. Hang in there...one day, those boys will be running around destroying your house and you'll so forget about how crazy hard this time was... ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you! I just started following your blog, and I can't wait to read the baby news!
