How far along? 31 weeks 4 days
Weight Gain: 21 lbs. I haven’t gained any weight since changing my diet for gestational diabetes. I guess it shows what carb counting and avoiding sugar will do.
Movement: Two nights ago it felt like Baby B (on my left side) was trying to flip, but didn’t have enough room to pull it off. It definitely wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Baby B moves a lot more than A right now.
Symptoms: Strong Braxton Hicks, and another kidney stone. Exhaustion has kicked in, and I struggle walking due to the pressure in my pelvis.
Food cravings: I still want Banana cake…
Best moment this week: I had to make a short trip to the grocery store for the Sno Shack, and I was literally exhausted and having contractions by the time I checked out. I struggled getting out to the car and putting Ledger into his car seat. When I stood up I noticed my cart was gone. A nice old man silently took my cart back for me. With double the hormones pumping through my pregnant body I may have shed a tear or two.
Baby Update: Taking it easy has paid off, my cervix hasn’t shortened any more since last visit. Yay! Baby A is measuring 4 lbs 1 oz, Baby B is measuring 4 lbs 4 oz, which puts them both in the 60th something percentile. Both babies are head down. Dr. said things are looking great, but I’m still supposed to take it easy. We discussed what to do if I should go into labor, and after 34 weeks it’s much safer to deliver because the babies lungs will be developed. Only 39 days until I reach 37 weeks :)
Boy does this bring back a flood of memories! Being so uncomfortable is so hard but you are doing awesome! Those sweet boys are going to be here before you know it! My goal was to make it to 35 weeks (made it to 36 1/2) and to have the babies both be over 5 lbs and they were! I barely even moved off the couch and it paid off. You can do this!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hope is 35 weeks as well, and 5 lbs would be wonderful. And yes, it's sooo uncomfortable! But thank you for the support, I need it!
DeleteYEAH for 4-pounders!! Keep up the good work. I am excited to see those little guys. Take care!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a couple years but rarely comment. You look amazing! I have 3 boys and am currently pregnant with my 4th (we chose not to find out the gender until birth), our due dates are only 3 days apart though I am sure you will have your boys a couple weeks before mine makes his/her entrance. You will absoultely love having all those boys in your house. My boys are all close in age (currently 5, 4, and 2)and there is nothing like being a mom to 3 little guys. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am praying for you and have been for a couple years now. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and keep taking it easy.
God Bless,
Carolyn
I remember how uncomfortable that last month was with my twins. They put me on bed rest for the last month and if totally paid off, two beautiful baby girls weighing 5.15 and 6.2 lbs. I am happy everything is going good for you, you are going to love having twins, soooo fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so nice of the person to take the cart back for you. Love there are still nice folks out there. I was exhausted near the end being pregnant with ONE baby...I can't imagine how hard it is with twins!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beautiful preggo! 31 week pregnant and you make it look so easy and attractive to lug around that belly! Keep hanging in there! Almost done! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! You sure cant tell how miserable I'm sure you feel by the way you look! I can't believe you've only gained 21lbs. That is so amazing to me, I can't even imagine how much I'd gain with twins! You go girl!

ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful! Seriously, an inspiration to all pregnant woman!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up! Your doing so great! Try and relax as much as possible. I know its hard to do with another young one to chase after. I was put on bed rest with a 1 year old. Yeah it was interesting. Take help if its offered. THats the hardest part. Just think you want them in and cooking cause once there out the real fun begins hahahahaahaha!!! SOrry to laugh. I have twin girls and oh man the first year is ruff. Fun but ruff. I had horrid complications and had to travel a lot to see specialists 2 hours away and 6 hours away. They would measure my cervix to see if they needed to stitch me up! Yep they seriously do that!! Take it easy lady! They will be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! Good job at keeping those babies baking as long as you have!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you and the babies. 4 pounders that's amazing! Almost done! Best to you and the boys!!! God Bless!

ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet, Thank you! I think we have most of everything we need. We're still stocking up on diapers, I noticed burp clothes were a little low for two, and other than that we're ready!! Can't believe how close we're getting.
DeleteWe will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers as well Good Luck and we will hope that the time goes quickly so 36-37 weeks come tomorrow haha but at least another 3 1/2 weeks for those little ones to continue to progress.. Good Luck with 3 little boys can't imagine the fun you guys will have at your home...

ReplyDeleteyou look so amazing! congratulations on doing so well so far...you are such a great mommy!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I am totally impressed at how well you look! One day at a time!!!
ReplyDeleteAshley- I have been reading your blog for some time now, but I never knew the inspiration it would be to me personally until I lost my little nephew in a drowning accident four months ago. I loved that boy with all my heart and spent a lot of time taking care of him. Losing him has been such a heartache to me and my family but I have turned to your posts many times for strength. Thank you for sharing the tender parts of your life and soul. It really does help others. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAlso- Two babies and you don't seem to have any swelling in your face or anything! You look great and make pregnancy look beautiful! Good luck these next several weeks. I cant wait to see those babies. I'm really happy for your family. :)
You look gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI rarely keep up with blogs anymore, but I always enjoy keeping up with yours! I love your stories, thoughts, and inspiration. I too had twins and I remember the days where you are right now. Nothing can really prepare you for when your sweet boys arrive--but accept a lot of help and have a system set (if possible) where ladies come in to help you throughout the day. You will forget who was fed, or who's diaper was changed. ...But over all, it's a wonderful and beautiful experience--and I am so excited you too get the experience of raising twins!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! I imagine you don't feel beautiful. Please rest and take care of yourself. You will be busy soon enough.
ReplyDeleteLove, love your updates! I am uncomfortable enough with one baby in there...can not imagine two! :) Quick question, can you do a post about your diet? I don't have gestational diabetes but would love to be more healthy and stop gaining. What are you eating to stop your cravings for sugar!? What have you had to forego? And, I still can't believe you have had to deal with so many kidney stones too! Bless you, bless you and thanks for sharing your sorrows, your excitement, and your family with us!
