Today, I had my 12 week appointment. I was late, due to a crazy wreck on the highway. The roads were extremely icy, and a 20 minute drive took me an hour.
I immediately had an ultrasound, and was sooo happy to see two healthy bouncing babies. This appointment was much more enjoyable, due to being much more calm.
Baby A was quite the hyper little thing, and continually flipped every which way. He/she made it extremely difficult to get any pictures and heartbeat. But we did manage to get a heartbeat at the end.
Baby B was a tad bit more calm, but I couldn’t help but think about how I might already be seeing a little bit of their personalities. And then wondered what it will be like to feel two babies kicking me in the next few months.
This past week I’ve started feeling better. If I stay on my Zofran, I can function for most of the day. At night I still get extremely sick, so I go to bed early and try to sleep it off. Today they noted that I’ve lost 2 lbs. During the past month I lost more than 2 lbs, but once I started eating this last week (like one to two sausage egg mcmuffins every single day…cravings) I put quite a bit back on. I’m so grateful for Zofran, I honestly don’t know how anyone could survive without out.
Next appointment (16 weeks) we will find out the gender. Eek! We can hardly wait. According to their heartbeats today, it would be a boy and a girl, but she said not to count on anything.
I’m definitely showing, I still don’t know how I’m going to fit 2 babies in there… but let the adventure begin!
With my twins they could see at 13 weeks! Insane, huh? They could actually only tell on Baby B that he was a boy and 3 weeks later we could tell for sure that Baby A was a boy as well (4 boys for me)!!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable!
So exciting and you look adorable... twins are so exciting !!!!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! You look great!
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of the Ramzi method? It's said if the eyebrow line is dominant in the ultrasound, it will be a boy. If the forehead is dominant, it is a girl. It's not clinically proven but if you look at the two babies they do look different. I think baby A is a girl and baby B is boy. That is just taking the Ramzi method and making my guess :) Congrats! They sure are cute little beans!
ReplyDeleteWahoo! Love good news! Congrats!

I am sure it's been a long haul for you but for me it's already going so fast!!!
Zofran was my friend during my pregnancy with twins, the movement is awesome. Enjoy it while it lasts because they run out of room to move around a lot fast and enjoy food to because you run out of room for that too! Congratulations again!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your family! Absolutely amazing! I cannot imagine having two babies inside of me!
ReplyDeleteah this brings back soooo many memories! Love it! My baby A was my calm one and my baby B was my crazy one and YES they are STILL exactly the same way today....4 and a half years later! :) Oh, the kicking thing...it will be constant movement. You will probably never have to wonder if they are doing okay because your belly won't stop moving hardly at all....and you will totally be able to tell which one is which in there, it's so crazy fun! You look adorable and yes they will both fit in there and then when you have another baby they will have an olympic sized swimming pool in your belly cause of all that room! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful! This is so exciting. Love your thoughts and reactions.

ReplyDeleteI missed that you were pregnant until the mexican food comment in the valentine's day post, so congrats! What beautiful babies (and beautiful mama!). I've been terribly sick all through every one of my pregnancies, so I feel you! I hope you start feeling better soon!
