- Pat's last day of the semester is today!
- Thanks to many of your ideas, Ledger ate a few carrots and peas this week. Progress!
- After surgery Ledger quit speaking. This week he decided to try and communicate with us again, and has been repeatedly saying "Choo Choo, truck, and NO!" :)
- We are taking off to SLC, UT for the weekend to celebrate Preslee's Birthday like we did last year. I can't wait to leave!
- Due to kidney stone, Ledger spent a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa Siddoway's house. Thanks mom and dad.
- We have an 18 month old again. Ledger turns 18 months today.
- And I've heard from a couple of you who took on the RAK'D project a little early, which made us so so happy! Thank you for sharing.
And our hearts go out to all the people affected by the shootings, especially in CT today. Many prayers are being sent your way.
I have been a long time follower of your blog, and I was working the other night (I work in a BUSY Labor and Delivery unit in Ogden, UT), and two nice women dropped of a beautiful craft/sign that they made as a random act of kindness and I couldn't help but think that it was from your blog! Thank you for your example and great attitude.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy 10 year old loves to read your blog...every time I am reading she asks if she can read it too. You are an inspiration and an example to many...including my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI printed off 12 of these and put them in my wallet. on Wednesday I decided that whoever pulled up behind me in the drive thru at Dairy Queen would get their food paid for by me. The cashier was a little puzzled at this request but agreed to let me pay for the blizzards. I asked him if he would please give the little paper to the person behind me. He looked at it and read it and agreed. I would like to think that the cashier was influenced by this act and will hopefully do some RAK as well as the lady behind us. And hopefully it will just spread from there. Thanks to this blog and your request for us to do this service, lives will be touched in more ways than any of us will ever know.

I m not sure if I have asked you due to my loss of a child fog but would you please share my blog?
I know your sweet Preslee drowned too. I know you miss her dearly.
I want all parents to be aware of this danger that I was not.
Hope your getting through the days and making a difference. Thanks xox one grieving mother to another.

I can't believe Ledger is 18 months already. I can't believe how much he reminds me of Pres. Oh how we love both of them so! Happy 18 months little Ledge!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a suggestion. If his speech doesn't improve you can always see if he can do speech therapy. I live in Georgia, and we have an early intervention program called Babies Can't Wait for children under age 3. A therapist actually comes out to your house and provides the therapy at home! My daughter did speech therapy for a year and it helped her TREMENDOUSLY! But like I said, it's just a suggestion :-)
ReplyDeleteHi you don't know me but I have followed your blog for some time now. You seem so amazingly strong to me and there is this other family who recently lost their son to cancer. The mom is having a very hard time. Anyway I'm sure you get this all the time but maybe you could look at her blog if you have some time. Her blog is echansen@blogspot.com
