He will do great! Good luck though! I get mine out next week (I am 26.. I hear it's rough for adults, they told me I would be down & out for 2 full weeks!) Again, good luck!
Good luck! My son had his tonsils and adenoids out and got tubes in his ears in February. Saddest day of my life. It's so heartbreaking but totally worth it. My son was back to himself after a day or two. A long, warm bath after the hospital really helped him :)
Good luck!! I'll be thinking about you guys tomorrow!! My little guy got his out in April, and the hardest part was him coming out of the anesthetic when he was still in the recovery room. He was screaming when the nurse came and got me and I climbed into the bed with him but he was pretty distraught! Finally the nurse gave him quite a bit of medicine and he conked out. When he woke up he started drinking liquids and eating jello, and we were able to go home just a few hours later. It was really easy, except for those few minutes in the recovery room. He was a bit sleepy the whole day and then he was fine! No other issues...I take that back. Getting him to take the medicine was tough, but again, that only lasted for a few days. I'm so relieved and glad we did it. I can't wait to hear how his recovery goes!
My little girl had her tonsils and adenoids out on Friday, and ear tubes put it. I seriously can't believe how SMOOTHLY it went. No tears when they took her back, no sickness as she woke up. She took it easy for a few days, but has basically been her normal self. I hope that Ledger's surgery and recovery goes that well, too. You're such a great mom and you'll do great helping him through it. Good luck!
I am saying a prayer right now. I rememeber being five and having mine out. Popscicles were what I looked forward to! May God bless you with peace today Ahsley
Good luck! Hopefully he recovers quickly and will be that "whole new kid"! Praying for you to have peace and comfort while he's in surgery and for him to get well soon!
My daughter had her adenoids and tonsils removed and tubes put in her ears when she was 2. By that afternoon, she was running, playing, eating, etc. My parents came to visit and asked if I was sure she had had surgery that morning. She didn't have any problems. I think the younger they are the better they are able to bounce back. My oldest daughter had hers removed in kindergarten and she was sick for 2 weeks. She wouldn't eat, got dehydrated and missed 2 weeks of school.
You have every right to be anxious!! You are a mother!! But he will be ok and I'm sure will be in very good hands tomorrow. I know he will like having the popsicles and juice - make sure he gets plenty of fluids - when he wakes up from the surgery. They may tell you to stay away from milk products such as yogurt, milk, ice cream because it may cause stuff in his throat. The nurses told me that my son (who is all grown up now) would talk funny (like a little old man)for a day to two and he did. Your little guy is so cute. He will be a little sad and hurting for a little bit but then in a few days....he'll be playing and laughing and hopefully you'll hardly remember he had surgery by this time next week. My prayers will be with your cute little family that all goes well. Take care.
You will be in our prayers little Ledge, may big sister Preslee hold your hand and be by you while your away from your mom and dad. May you also recover quickly and get back to your fun self!
Ashley, I hope Ledger is on the mend, and that he feels better quickly. I live in NY and there is a family that has been writing about the journey of their son throughout his diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. He just past away yesterday, and his mother wrote the most beautiful and amazing things about her son. It reminded me so much of the beautiful words you have shared about Preslee. Here is the link to the blog. Truly beautiful!
Prayers sent your way!
