The other night, Pat put Ledger to bed while I was getting ready to run to a workout class.
I heard him give Ledger a kiss, and say,
"Dad loves you, Mom loves, and Sissy loves you."
Following the funeral, my biggest fear was that Preslee would be forgotten.
Now, I realize she's just as much apart of our family as any other member.
I've come to realize the day we were married in the Idaho Falls Temple, was the most important day of my life, because of the blessings we received there-being sealed together forever. I didn't fully comprehend the importance of those blessings until the day I walked into our house from PCMC, and a picture of my bright wedding bouquet caught my eye.
Happy Fifth Anniversary to us!
(Five years sounds old)
Look how innocent we were, we had no idea what was in store for us.
I'm extremely grateful to have had Patrick by my side.

P.S. I think I might get away with surprising Pat for the very first time!
We're taking a weekend away, and he has no clue.
I'm just hoping I covered everything... we'll see!
Happy 5th Anniversary! 5 years seems like such a short time (I've been married 12 years!), but you've been through so much more heartache than I can even imagine. I hope you enjoy your surprise get-away!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!!! Patricks face in your wedding picture looks just like ledger!!!! Have fun!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 5 years! You are so right--the blessings of the temple are something that maybe most of us don't appreciate when we first receive them, but they become even more important over the years the more that we understand them. I'm glad that those promises have given you and Pat some comfort.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys have a fun getaway!
Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWhat you two have been through in such a short amount of time is incredible and you should be proud that despite any difficulties you have encountered you always come back to one another. Grief is so hard, because no two people grieve the same but ultimately you two are the only ones that know what losing Preslee, as a daughter, is truly like, and it humbles me to see that through it all, you come back to one another and take comfort in eachother. Preslee will never, ever be forgotten, even for those of us who never met her and haven't even met you-she, and you, have touched so many lives I don't think you can even begin to comprehend.
Happy Anniversary!! Get away and enjoy one another and celebrate teh amazing accomplishments you have made and look forward with anticipation to all that awaits!
Hugs, Em
How fun! He will love it! If five years sounds old, our almost 9 must sound ancient! Ha! Happy anniversary!
ReplyDelete:)

Happy Anniversary!!!!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! We have several mutual friends but you and I don't know each other personally. My husband and I were married on August 3, 2007 in the Idaho Falls Temple too!! I just love your blog and gain wonderful inspiration from you. We have two children as well and each time I read your words I cherish them even more. I'm so thankful for eternal families as well!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this post. It was just what I needed to remember as I prepare for the birth of our second son after our first beat us to heaven. I so appreciate your posts!

Happy 5th Anniversary!!! Enjoy your weekend away.
ReplyDeleteMiss Preslee will never be forgotten! I think of her and your family every single day. I have a pink ribbon and pearl necklace (just like the one Preslee is holding in the pictures of her in the hospital) hanging in my room that reminds me every day of the impact she made on my life....and I never even met her! Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I know I struggle with temptation daily... the joy of being a mommy ;) THANK YOU for the quick reminder of the blessing/promises we are given when we are faithful and keep our promises as well! WE never know what life will bring us.

Hope the next fifty just get better from here...they have to right?!
