Sweet 15 year old Tyler Smith, who I've written about before, passed away early Sunday morning. All week my thoughts have been consumed with Tyler and his family. I've gotten to know Tyler's mom Ann over the past year, and my heart completely broke for her as we wrote back and forth this past week. I truly wish nobody had to experience the trial of losing a child.
And I've now sat here for quite awhile, writing different things, and then erasing them. Nothing really seems appropriate.
Then I realized Ann said it perfectly in her last post.
Smith family, we love you. We'll be sending many prayers your way for a very long time.
Tyler has definitely impacted our little family.
He's truly an amazing kid.
Our prayers are with the Smith family as well. My heart just wrenched when I heard the news. Families are forever and he is going to do some amazing things while he awaits his family. He is truly an inspiration to everybody! He fought to the finish!
ReplyDeleteI'm so, so sorry to read this. Sending loving thoughts to all of Tyler's family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThis is a mom who is struggling with her babies fight for life, some of the things she's said I thought may help you, and some of the things you've said may help her. Her blog is bosecrew@blogspot.com.

ReplyDeleteSo sad for the loss of this young man....his family will sorely miss him. We are asked to show Christ-like love but when we go through hard things some of us cannot think about anyone else's heartache. But not you....you think of this other family and share your love and compassion with them. My heart is sad for anyone who has to go through the loss of their child, their mother, their father, their spouse, their sibling, their niece or nephew, or friend but the way you handle your heartache is with grace and love. I know you have helped my niece (K.W.) with your loving friendship and the kindness you showed toward her. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life with us blogger friends/strangers. You inspire me and help me to want to become a better person. My prayers will include the Smith family.
ReplyDeleteI have been following Tyler's journey since you posted about this amazing family. Both you and Tyler's family are so beautiful... words cannot describe how truly touched I am by the grace and quiet strength you have all shown during this unimaginable heartache in your lives. xxx
