Hearing the pounding of a sippy on a high chairLaundry (Even though I hate doing my own)
Screaming and thrashing as I change a diaper :)

Busy Ball Popper
I would have never dreamed the familiar sounds and daily routines/chores that suddenly disappeared a year and a half ago would mean so much to me today. I wonder if I'll always appreciate them, or if I'll slowly forget...
Anyway, every time Preslee walked past that Busy Ball Popper she would hit the lever just to hear the music play. That was one of the things I missed the most. The silence in our house for nearly a year was excruciating. Now, I love that Ledger constantly jabbers (a lot like his mom) and I find myself hitting the lever to the ball popper, just to hear it, as well as teach Ledger how to use it.
I absolutely love this kid and everything that comes along with being his mom.
Especially the wet slobbery kisses he now so freely gives.
Love you Sledge

What a sweet post.. I cant believe Ledger has gotten so BIG! I could just gobble him up!!!
ReplyDeleteI was going through some stuff the other day and found our sno-shack punch card. I cnat believe there were any left on it. And of course Tanner was ready to ride his walk to rigby to get one. I told him if he started now you MIGHT be open by the time he gets there--LOL
You're so sweet, Ashley. Ledger is a wonderful little man and so gorgeous! :) I'm glad you're happy.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same toy for my grandson. Yes, I love the noise, the chatter, the toys, the fun along with everything else that goes with it because at the end of the, I get a hug from him. I've watched him grow up right before my eyes because my son, daughter-in-law and grandson live in my home. It is a far cry from the silence that occurred after my husband passed away and my son moved out about 5 months later. Life has now gone full circle for me: newlywed bride, mother, wife, widow, empty nester, grandmother, grandson. I am happy you have your little son who brings you and your husband and family such joy. He is so precious and cute. May the Lord continue to pour out his grace and love upon you and fill you with peace and happiness always.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you will ever forget, or stop appreciating those special noises that really, define our lives.
ReplyDeleteI think loss helps us appreciate our lives more, and what we once had in them, and, if we are ever so lucky to regain the joys we once had, I think we treasure those little blessings, and joys, and NOISES so much.
I haven't gotten to the place where I have something back in my home again to hear, and rejoice in. It is still empty. But I hope one day I will, and I know that if I do, I won't ever stop praying for thankfulness to have those things back.
We love you Ledge, for making your mommy so happy.
What a great post. It is amazing how sounds mean so much!!
ReplyDeleteStill watching you with amazement Ashley. He's beautiful, just like your monkey :) You guys are gonna make it. <3
ReplyDeleteMuch love
~Sam
