A few upcoming events-
March 24th- Work sample portfolio due and interview on campus.
April 1st - Last day in the classroom!!!!
April 8th-9th Graduation! I did decide to walk, big and prego!
I passed my first kidney stone during this pregnancy. So, everything I did in hopes of preventing them didn't work... Last pregnancy I passed 9, I'm praying for a lower number this time.
Since Pat changed his major he seems to be enjoying school more. He's taught me many facts from his religion and microbiology classes :)
He's loving church ball.
On Thursday he's heading to Boise with my cousin Trevor for the Basketball state tournament. He can hardly wait to watch basketball all day without a nagging wife :)
He's dreaming about the snow melting away so he can golf with his dad.
We took Preslee's room down, and put up the new bedding (we ordered the bedding and curtains from the picture below). It was an incredibly bittersweet experience. I was very emotional while taking her things down, but once I started putting the new bedding up, I couldn't help feel excited. Preslee's favorite pink blanket had an elephant on it. So when we saw this bed set, it was a simple way for Pat and I to tie her into the room. We love it.

Oh Ashley,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your upcoming graduation! I too, walked big and preggo, with a degree in Special Ed.
I can't imagine how hard it must have been to take down Preslee's things,I am so glad you have a wee one to use the space again, though. The bedding is a great way to make Preslee a part of the whole thing. Lovely.

ReplyDeleteHi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, I just found your blog. It took me several days to get through reading Preslee's story and I have never felt heartache like that before. I haven't been able to stop thinking about you and your family since. I can honestly say that I've changed more in this past week then I ever thought possible. You are such an inspiration and you make me want to be a better person and be the best mother that I can be to my 22 month old baby girl Rae Ann. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Because of you I have fallen in love with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ all over again and I am so grateful!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your upcoming milestones.... I have followed your story for a few months and the word that comes to mind to describe you and Pat is STRONG. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. You must be so excited. Let yourself be.... P.S. Tell Pat to root for the Melba Mustangs this weekend. Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteI have to ask where this bedding came from--I am due the day before you, and I'm having a boy also (this is boy #2), and so far we've come up with nothing we like for bedding! It is super cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great look for the new nursery. I love that your little guy will have a sense of knowing Preslee through the elephants and through your memories. Congrats on upcoming graduation. What a triumph, especially with all that your family has been through the past year.
ReplyDeleteLove the bedding. I'm sure it was very bitter sweet taking Presley's things down. Congratulations on graduating!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you to graduate that is the best feeling!! The bedding is so adorable I love it! Kidney stones, really?? Yikes you are tough haha love ya ash!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the graduation. That is wonderful. I couldn't imagine what you were feeling while you were taking your precious baby girls room down. I'm so sorry that you have even had to do that. I'm happy for you both that you will get to enjoy this new baby soon. I know that Preslee will always be with him and I know she will love his room. I love the elephant print on the bedding. Your children are very lucky to have such strong parents to teach them and love them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your upcoming graduation. Taking the bedding down bittersweet, but loving the new bedding.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! I love elephants!
ReplyDeleteHey, I just read that eating 2-4 oranges a day can reduce your chances or even break apart kidney stones. I read in a post of yours that you have a problem with that during pregnancy. If you like oranges, it said to eat them BEFORE meals on an empty stomach. Good luck.
You are amazing Ashley. The thoughts and things you post on your blog help me everyday. I just want to say thank you. You are an incredible person. Congrats on the upcoming graduation! Good luck in teaching... you'll do great!

I've been following your blog since July last year and i've said it before but you, your husband and your faith and strength is so amazing and inspiring. I am too one of those people who is forever changed because of your blog. I thought about you and what you must of been feeling while taking down preslee's room. It brings tears to my eyes. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for your example and expressing your feelings. I view EVERYTHING differently since the accident. I hope that I can be half the mother to my three little girls that you are! Congrats on your soon to be little one to help ease the aching a bit. What amazing parents you and Pat are!!! You guys are still in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck with everything.
ReplyDeleteLove,

I just found your blog through a friend of mine. My first baby girl was stillborn at 38 weeks nearly 5 years ago. We moved a week after my subsequent baby was born, to a smaller apartment that had no room for a nursery. Taking down that nursery was so hard.
ReplyDeleteI love that talk referenced in your last post. I cried all through it when he gave it, and every time I've heard it since. I know that my little Cora is doing great things, and that your Preslee is too.
(((hugs)))

congratulations on your graduation! I have been a silent reader but in reading of your kidney stone I had to write and tell you what worked for me. You will probably think me crazy, but I try crazy things. This one is totally harmless. I had the worst kidney stone I've ever had and it was not passing. could not move, sneeze, breath etc with out it hurting. I read to eat parsley (and the parsley root. I skipped on the root, but would have tried it had the leaf of the parsley not worked.) Anyway, I just happened to have some in the garden and helped myself. With in the hour my kidney stone was gone! Not sure if it would work again as I have not had a kidney stone (at this point) since. Might be something to try. If you try it I pray that it works well for you!

I have been following and reading your blog for a while, but have been pretty silent! I'm so impressed by your faith, through everything that has happened. I know this must have been tough to take down your baby girl's things - but it's wonderful that you are tying a piece of her into your son's room.
ReplyDeleteOhhh Sidd. Tears are streaming down my face again. I really don't know what to say except that I appreciate the strong love you have for Preslee and it inspires me to be the best Mom for my son, Wyatt.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your baby #2. I'm sure he and Preslee are having the time of their lives right now.
