I just put the SD card in and realized I only took 3 pictures over Christmas...Anyway, here's what our Christmas vacation consisted of.
We spent Christmas Eve at Dorsie and Terry's with the whole clan! It was unique as we celebrated Fiesta style. All the boys and Shy served missions Spanish speaking. They shared traditions they learned from their missions.
Christmas morning Pat and I opened presents by ourselves and headed to my parents in time to talk to my little brother calling from Brazil. It was fun to hear from him. He's been out since May and has failed to send any pictures home. He told us he's lost 30 pounds. I'm hoping for some pics soon. We then headed to the Eriksons for the traditional Siddoway Christmas breakfast.
Christmas afternoon we drove down to Michele and Layne's. We ate a great dinner and opened presents.
Someone had told us the anticipation of the day is often much worse than the actual day. That's how I felt about Christmas. It went better than we thought it would. Though we had our hard moments, we were grateful to be with family.
The 27th was Patrick's 26th Birthday! Pat went snowboarding with his brothers, and the wives went and got pedicures. Then later that night Pat's family and my parents met up for dinner at Applebee's for Pat's favorite won-ton tacos. We had cake and homemade ice cream at our house. This was the first year Pat let me make him a cake. He always tells me he hates cake and he'd rather have licorice or cookies. Well, he asked for Tres Leches cake (from Mexico). So Pioneer Woman's blog came to the rescue and 3 years into the marriage I made him his first Birthday cake and failed to take a picture of the historic occasion. :)
Hudson saying "cheese" for the camera.

Then Pat's friends got together for an ugly sweater party. Lindsey was inspired to take our pictures from this hilarious site! Awkwardfamilyphotos.com This will make up for the lack of pictures. She's always on top of it.
The boys loving the white elephant gifts.
Kris won't let me make him a cake for his birthday either!! He HATES cake! Instead he always asks for a bowl of Swedish Fish! After 7 years of marriage I still haven't made him a cake. With 2 (soon to be 3) other birthdays in january I don't feel too bad about it...we always seem to have plenty of cake :)
ReplyDeleteAnother side note about your past posts: I too hate the smell of meat and/or eating meat when I am pregnant....and I LOVE fruit and waffles when I am prego!
Glad you made it through Christmas okay! Only a few more weeks and you get to find out if you are having a boy or girl.....I can hardly wait!!
I feel like I haven't seen you in forever....hope your new position at Harwood is going well....
I haven't forgotten about you. Hope you are doing okay. Come to girls night if you can! I miss you!
I feel very lucky that I made it in your 3 photos! I can send you photos if you want from the ones I took - just let me know! Also, I don't get to find out till mid-February what we are having because although they said they could tell the sex of the baby, 19 weeks is too early to get a good look at the heart. So I have to wait weeks after you find out - so bummed! But excited come February 1st to find out what is headed your way!

Happy Birthday Pat! You are absolutely my favorite son that I ever caught swinging on my chandelier!! Love the sweater party pics! I too love how hard Pat is laughing. I only want to know what is the present that was so funny? That is the Patrick laugh that is so contagious.(Or as Cache used to say it when he was younger, "Patwich") Wish Cache was able to go! I left a comment on the get away part too, guess I am just chatty today! Happy new year!!!
ReplyDeletei love the pics from the sweater party those boys are awesome they were alway fun to hang out with. i was sad that i had to work on christmas i would love to see the family again, miss you guys and hope to see you soon. im coming up for 4 days in Feb maybe we could do lunch or dinner or something fun?? LOVE YOU GUYS
ReplyDeleteThis post sounded a lot familiar to me! My hubby doesn't like cake either and rarely do I make him one. But when I did last, it was the tres leches cake. How funny. Also, my brother went 8 months without sending any pictures. Then he sent a ton and no more for the rest of the mission. Stinker! He also lost a ton of weight so that made it kind of fun to see him when he got home since we hadn't seen any pics a long the way! So glad Christmas was enjoyable for you! Your belly is adorable. I love belly pics. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of your friends is the spitting image of Iker Casillas.
