I've never been much of a hiker, with a bad knee and asthma it's something I've always avoided. Well one warm day in July, some of Patrick's family joined us and we hiked Table Rock! Oh man, I assumed it wouldn't be too difficult of a hike (I have no idea why) but it was a pretty tough. Especially for your very first hike. Anyway, to say the least I'm now happy and quite proud of myself to say I've hiked Table Rock. It will probably be the first and only hike I'll ever go on. :) I know it's a little late, but I wanted to blog it. Thanks family for putting up with two sleep deprived hikers!

The shots are gorgeous, I love how vibrant the sky is. Good job! I have the same issues with knees and asthma, but my husband still convinced me to run Ragnar next year. I guess I better start training:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet climbed to Table Rock or even the Grand Teton but want too, just to say that I have.haha Proud of you girl! I bet it was an amazing view! Hope all is well. :)
ReplyDeletei think that deserves a bragging right! :) way to go...that is quite an accomplishment! beautiful views-wow!
ReplyDeletelooks like a pretty view! I've always wanted to go on a hike.. I tried to convince ty to take me to R Mountain at one point?.. don't really know how much of a hike that one is but it always sounded fun
ReplyDeleteR Mountain is pretty tame in comparison to Table Rock. I am so happy for you that you tackled it and succeeded! One person in my group lost toenails the last time I hiked Table Rock because their shoes were a little too loose, and on the way down we took the shortcut that goes about straight down, and his toes kept slamming the end of his boots. Glad you had a good experience! Now get Cara and Kash to do it - I challenge you!
ReplyDeleteBy the way - don't listen to my mom - I don't need to do it - I hiked the Tetons for 20 some odd miles and had black toe nails for a year! So I'm proud of that and don't need another one :)
ReplyDeletethose are some awsome pictures we live close to those mountains so I get to see them every day!!! You are an amasing family Keep those memories in your heart and its true til we meet again aren't we greatly for the gospel plan!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some AWESOME pics! Did you take those Ash?!
ReplyDeleteI'm still jealous, but it was pretty fun smootchin' on the babes while you went. I think you guys went up the face, right? I hear it's closed now indefinitely....I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteNice job, it looks breathtaking!
It sure is beautiful up there, but man I am not much a hiker either. I can hike a mile out in hibbard.... but then i end up hitch hiking back home.
ReplyDeleteNice job, my endurance level is next to nothing so thumbs up to you.;)
ReplyDeletegood work ash..that totally deserves a bragging right! :) I have never done tablerock but have always wanted to..the view is gorgeous!!

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am one of your anonymous readers who has been reading since the day after the accident. I have been so touched by your story and Preslee's story. I am amazed every day how you manage to keep going. I can only hope to be at strong as the two of you are.
I wanted to tell you that through your blog I have had the inspiration to make the Care Packages for the children and their family members' that have to spend time in hospitals. I am gathering as many family members and friends to help. We will be making them for Christmas. I am so excited to get started on this project! The reason we are doing a Christmas/Holiday theme is because I want to share how much Joy Christmas brings to my family and especially me. I will keep you undated on the progress.
The two of you are truly Amazing, just remember that every moment.

Sorry your LDS Life Newspaper Article
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and wanted to leave a little note to tell you thank you. Reading through your posts has inspired me both to be more fully grateful for what I have now and to look outside of myself and to really see other people and what is happening in their lives. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your testimony. You are a great example.
ReplyDeleteWhat GREAT pics! When we go back to Jackson Hole, we will have to hike this! We spent our honeymoon up there, but didn't make it to this hike! Thanks for the info on a new beautiful place to go! Love it!
