We've officially been married for three years! Even though our life together has had some unexpected turns I'm so grateful I've been able to experience it with you. You've been my rock during these last few years and I've seen you grow in so many ways. I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together years from now. Thank you for making me laugh every single day.
Love,
Ashley Jo

ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Colby Majors. I just read all about your little girl and I want you to know that Heavenly Father and His son loves all of you so very much. My sister-in-law and her husband has lost two sons due to a gene that her mother carries. I am not exactly sure what it is called, but it is difficult for the women in the family to have children. Their two sons are the only ones to have it here in Utah and the only males that survived birth in the U.S. Their first would have been 3 this year in April, but he only lived for almost 2 months. Their second lived 13 months and passed away earlier this year. Of course it was hard for them, but they know that they are loved and that they will see their sons again, and I know that you will see your daughter again.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! You dont know me...I found your blog through another one that I follow. I am amazed by your strength and your witness. I am a Christian and cant not imagine going through life not one or having a tragedy like this happen to me without that faith. Thank you for sharing your daughters life and what it means even though it was short by our time frames. Preslee is special and always will be and one day I will get to meet this little girl who saved so many. Thank you again for being brave enough to share.

You do not know me but your blog has been sent to me by two people who I love and adore and they told me to look at your blog because my 17 month old son passed away on the 12 of July. His funeral service was also on the 20th. I am amazed at your strength. I've been told that so many times I wish people would stop thinking of me as strong I'm stuggling too but they don't see that as much. I have 4 other children who lift me up daily and bring me great comfort along with the gospel. I don't know what I'd do without them so needless to say as I read your blog and I'm feeling every same emotion as you I'm also amazed at your strength for losing your first precious angel. My condolences to you and my prayers also. Your blog has brought me so much comfort in reading and all the quotes you've posted have helped me tremendously. I have a poem posted on my blog I think you may find comfort in, it is call "What make a mother" your can put father in that too it applies just the same. da.savillefamily.org Thank you for your strength and sharing your testimony. Hang in there, I believe that's all we can do at this time beside pray a lot.

ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, but your example has meant more to me then you'll ever know. I have a child with health problems and special needs...and your strength lifts me up.
This life is hard...no doubt about it!!! Something that has comforted me with my son is:
"The Lord compensates the faithful for EVERY LOSS. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."
(from Come what may, and love it; Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin)
But can you EVEN believe that!!! YOU WILL be compensated a HUNDREDFOLD!!! I have NO DOUBT that the 2 of you WILL be SO very blessed in this life and in the life to come!
XOXO,
S.Keller
P.S. you should check this video out...it has also helped me:

Happy Anniversary Patrick and Ashley...
ReplyDeleteI have been praying for your family since I read Preslee's story on the MLB wives'website.
I am also part of a prayer chain for my MOPS group here in Colorado that has been praying Gore, a little boy whose story was very similar to that of Preslee's. If you have the strength, you can access his story at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/goreotteson/mystory
As you will read, their outcome was much different from yours. I'm not sure why I felt compelled to share this with you other than thinking that this connection will somehow form a bond across the miles. Perhaps you will pray for little Gore and his family can pray for you and Patrick.
Your faith is an inspiration. You have inspired me to love on my kids a little more...
I will continue to pray for you. God is blessing you and will continue to do so on your journey.

ReplyDeleteI just stumbled onto your blog. My tears are streaming down my face and onto my keyboard. I wish I could to more for you than type and pray. As I was reading your story, my husband said to me "Hey, that's my friends blog." It turns out he went to high school with your husband.
ReplyDeleteWe both express our deepest sorrow for the both of you. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you. Truly, thank God for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the reality of eternal life.
We have downloaded 'Preslee' and practically have it memorized.
You're in our prayers...

Ashley and Patrick,
ReplyDeleteI have read through your blog many times and just felt I should write a comment to the both of you. I have one daughter who is 2 and so your story has really touched me. What a wonderful example both of you are. I have thought about you probably everday since I read your story about 2 weeks ago. I find myself praying for you and I don't know you but I hope the best for you two. I am a better mom because of you guys. My parents lost their first child when she was4 months old, and it is amazing the strength our sister is as she waits in heaven for us. I feel so much love from her! I can only imagine the strength and love you feel from your beautiful Preslee! I just want to thank you for blessing my life!! I saw your wedding pictures in the post, and realized you are friends with Hailey, who my brother dated, and then I asked my brother, Brian Hymas, if he knew you, and he said you went out a few times after his mission. Small world! :) I just told him how amazed I am at you and Patrick and he said it doesn't surprise him, he thought you were such a happy positive person. I will keep both of you in my prayers because I know the Lord is there for us always!!
Much love,
Kara
I'm still in awe of how strong you both are. When I am having a hard day and having trouble finding patience I think of you. I look forward to checking back on your blog and seeing the wonderful things that will be coming your way in the future.
