And ‘A’ life can change us forever…..
Preslee has shown us today that perhaps there is a different plan for her than we originally thought. Throughout the events of today and yesterday, Preslee’s conditions have changed down a different path and her little spirit is torn between two worlds. Strange to say but there has been a distinct difference in the feeling of her hospital room today. From one day to the next. It’s as if her valiant little spirit is just staying for us. Just staying long enough for us to realize that this is not the end.
Little Preslee has been a strong fighter but we don’t know if she will be fighting much longer. We wish to thank each of you for your insurmountable support, love and prayers in behalf of our family.
I found your blog from a friend on facebook and just want you to know what an impact little preslee has made in our home. I feel the sprit flooding from my computer screen as I read about this trial in your life. As a Mother I can't imagine what you all must be going through but my Testimony is only stronger reading your thoughts. Preslee is in my heart and prayer. I hope that you take comfort in knowing that you are not alone and that Preslee is continuing to touch the lives of others even strangers like me. Lots of love,
ReplyDeleteJess
We don't understand God's plan for each of us or for Preslee, but we know the God loves his children. We love you and pray for you. May God bless you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMy heart hurts for your family right now.No words can say to you that would make you feel better.I lost my 3rd son after he lived for 12 hrs.I hope you have a miracle. My prayers are with your family tonight.

ReplyDeleteI found your blog from a friends blog and have been following Preslee's progress. I just want you to know that our family has been joining yours in prayers and tears. We will continue to pray for your sweet family, for God's will and your comfort throughout this horrible experience. I can't imagine what you are going through and sure that I can't say anything to make you feel better but wanted you to know that Preslee has touched my heart and that we will continue to pray for tender mercies.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out for you! I will continue to pray for you and your family! You have shown so much faith through this trial and have been such an amazing example for everyone following this blog! Gods plan is so comforting at times like this and I know He has a plan and a will for all of us and He wants nothing but the best for us! My thoughts and prayers are with you!
ReplyDeleteStaci
I have just read through the last several posts. I am so so sorry yall are going through this and that Preslee is having to fight at 1. God will protect her and both of you; Pat you said that you don't want to not be a dad anymore. You will ALWAYS be a dad no matter if she is here or in her Heavenly Father's arms. God will never take that away from you. We have lost 4 children inbetwen our 2 and our youngest is 3 wks older than Preslee. We have been fighting for him too and spending much time in Children's. God is such a might and miraculous Father. I am praying that He comforts yall in this time, gives you all the miracle you desire but if that isn't His plan that He would reveal to you a higher calling for this moment in your lives. Much love, strength and support coming to you tonight.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is hurting so bad for you right now. I'm headed to my knees right this minute! Maybe her turn is going to end up being for the better...............just maybe. Oh God, please cradle this little girl in your arms of protection and provision, place your own hands inside her body and restore her health to her Lord, I beg you.
ReplyDeletePraying hard for your family and especially that beautiful girl.
Pat & Ashley,
ReplyDeleteYou and your darling daughter have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. I can't comprehend the range of emotions you must be feeling, but I have been touched by your strength as parents and as a family. I don't anything to say but I am so sincerely and deeply sorry. Our prayers for you and your family will continue long into the future.
Much love,
Tiffany
My heart aches for all of your family and for little Preslee. I pray that you all will be comforted with whatever Heavenly Father's plan is for your baby girl. Stay strong-Raini Hayden

ReplyDeleteI come to your page in hopes to have the spirit guide me to find the right words to comfort you guys! I've started over and over and I decided there is nothing that anyone can say to take the pain away from what you are going through! This experience has changed so many people's lives! I am so deeply sorry that you have to experience this trial. I want you to know that it has changed the focus in our home too. We have been closer to the Heavenly Father and to each other and it has helped me to see that the small things I was complaining about in life truly don't matter. I am now better at enjoying the precious moments with my daughter. We love you guys and are still praying hard!

ReplyDeleteMiracles come in many forms. Sometimes the miracle is that we learn to see the errand of angels and the effect they have on our lives. My heart is aching for you all. I pray that you know how much you are loved. The master plan will make sense if you cling to the things you know and the things you have learned during those quiet moments when you have been able to "listen" to what her spirit has been telling you.
ReplyDeleteThe Edelmayer's love you!
Preslee's spirit has changed thousands of people's life, created miracles for others, and brought people of this world closer to Christ and God. We've hit our knees multiple times a day for you guys and your baby. God will hold your family in His arms tonight. We love you and will continue to pray for you family always.
ReplyDeletePat and Ashley we are so very sorry. We're still praying for Preslee and know that she'll be in good hands either way. What a sweet girl that has touched so many lives. We love you guys and think you are so amazing.

Pleas know of our prayers for both your immediate and exteneded family at this time. As I read your posts I am humbled to see such strength surface at this time. Also to see the love and support of all those that are like me, who want you to know of our care and concern for your family. Please know that your family is in our prayers. I randomly found your blog through another blog and learned that we live 15 minutes away from the town where the accident was. So now I feel like I know you. I have been following your blog everyday checking it tons admiring your family's strength and praying and crying with you over the pain you are dealing with. I wish you all the very best and I know it's a little wierd and we don't know each other but I love you guys. I am so thankful that we both know this is not the end and I am so sorry for your suffering. Love, Susan
ReplyDeletewe are praying for you as you are going through this. what a blessing it is to know that our families are sealed together eternally. you have been such an example of faith, strength, and love through everything and thank you for sharing so much of with us through your blog. you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you are going through this
ReplyDeleteThe words to one of my favorite songs from the musical "Wicked" are the only thing that came to my mind as I processed your last post.
ReplyDeleteI don't know you personally, but I've been invested in your story from the very beginning and have felt such an overwhelming love for you and little Presless. I will never forget her. I'm a mom and my heart breaks for you. Please know you have not cried alone in this.
Dear little courageous and beautiful Preslee, and your sweet Parents:
"I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason bringing something we must learn. And we are lead to those who help us most to grow if we let them, and we help them in return. Well, I don't know if I believe that's true, but I know who I am today because I knew you. Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes the sun, like a stream that meets a boulder half way through the wood, Who can say if I've been changed for the better, I do believe I have been changed for the better, because I knew you, I have been changed for good.
It well may be that we will never meet again in this lifetime so let me say before we part, so much of me is made of what I learned from you, you'll be with me like a handprint on my heart. And now whatever way our stories end, I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend. Because I knew you, I have been changed for Good"
My family will continue to pray for a miracle for your family, that the Comforter will close by, and that the beautiful Atonement of the Savior and Redeemer of the World will envelope you in every way in the coming hours.
Continued love and prayers coming your way,
Kara Foster Holmes
My heart aches reading this. I hope that you will have comfort knowing that you are an eternal family. I know that no words can heal you, but thank you so much for sharing your story with us (many strangers) and strengthening all of our testimonies.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry Pat and Ashley. Dave and Chelsea called me late tonight! We will continue to pray for you and your sweet family at this most difficult time! We are always here for you! Much love,
ReplyDeleteJared and katie Sommer and family
Pat and Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what you are going through at this time. I continue to pray for you and Preslee and pray that you will feel our Father's arms wrapped around you at this time. What a great thing this gospel is. You will always be Preslee's mommy and daddy, no matter what happens. She is in good hands.
Kirsten
I have added dear little Preslee to the list at http://www.pray4kids.com/PrayerList.cfm
ReplyDeleteI read this scripture this morning and thought of you: "[H]ow is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him." ~ 1 Nephi 7:12
ReplyDeleteFrom that moment, my prayer for your family has simply been that the Lord will help you remember that together (He and you), you can do ALL things according to HIS will.
As I rack my brain for what - among the myriad of thoughts, feelings, tears, and emotions I have felt for you as I look at my own little girl and try to fathom what you are experiencing -- what to say at a time like this? It is that you WILL have a miracle. Whether the miracle is that she will live and you will be strengthened as you watch her continue to grow and fight or that she will pass on and you will be strengthened as you discover hope in a Plan you have had faith in your whole lives but learn to walk and breathe on an entirely different level . . . whatever the miracle, the miracle is YOU and Preslee, and God has already started to lay the foundation of THAT great work!!!
Thank you for the reminder that we are truly SO blessed to be part of eternal families and have the knowledge of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ -- the good news that death is not the end, just a stepping stone part of a much larger Plan of HAPPINESS!!!
Much love and prayers continue your way!
I am not good with words but felt an overwhelming need to comment. My heart and prayers are with all of you. I went back to the beginning of your blog and was so impressed by you all, especially now. Your courage is an inspiration for all. I hope that you all have someone in your lives that can be your strength as you have surely been for others. I will continue to pray for Preslee and you.
ReplyDeletePat and Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say at this time, but your example of faith and love has given me and my family the gift of knowing love surpasses everything, and through that Heaven is all around us. Preslee is a sweet angel, and she will always be yours and your love for her will always keep her close to you forever. This experience has made so many people look at things differently, love one another more deeply, and cling to what we hold dear to our hearts instead of worrying about the un-important things in life that seem to consume us. My heart aches, and my eyes are filled with tears thinking of what you are going through, and I am truly sorry. Pat, I remember meand you playing everyday when we were little tikes and how you described Preslee being like you, and for the memories I have, I feel like I know your Preslee... a contagious smile, an exciting, fun, and adventurous imagination, and always on the go!! I'm glad I carry those memories with me. I love you guys, and I love your sweet angel, and we are still hoping and praying!!
Love,
Candice
i'm praying for you... i don't know you.. but i love your family and wish you only the best.. good luck.. "fear not, for I am with thee".
ReplyDeleteYour sweet little girls has not just touched your lives but has taught thousands of faith and courage and hope. Little Preslee not only brought the world to there knees but gave them the outlook on life that everyone needs. She is a fighter if here or in Heaven she will be fighting to keep this example that she has already so gracefully shown us. My heart breaks for your family and I pray that whatever happens you will feel comfort. Your family is in our prayers love you lots.
ReplyDeleteLove Chris and Ky
Dear Sullengers,

C'mon little Preslee, keep on fighting we love and adore you so much. Im so sorry ash and pat, you have the whole town of Rexburg on their knees tonight praying for that sweet baby girl. Love you guys
ReplyDeleteYour Aunt Nic is a very good friend of mine and I have read and prayed and cried for you. After reading your blog and the comments left I too have felt that I need to focus more on what is really important. I sat tonight and just watched my kids sleep. Such a simple thing that we take for granted. Your story truly has touched so many lives.
ReplyDeleteStill praying for a miracle!
I found your blog through the Idea Room blog I follow. I just wanted you to know my family is praying for your little angel. WE have a 2 year old daughter who is everything your little Preslee is to you. I just thank you that you have faith in God and that God has a bigger plan for your family and for your Preslee. May the Lord and his Spirit be with you always.
ReplyDeleteI even dont know anymore where I found your blog, I forgot it. Little Preslee is only 3 weeks older than my little girl, and Im nearly crying. Sitting here reading this story about her fighting and Im really shocked. I live far away from you, and cant tell you that I will pray, we german, dont do it this way, we are not so religious, but I will keep her in mind, thinking of her and Im sure she will win her life back, she is a fighter.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you
Hugs Cornelia
I heard from a friend of ur heart breaking news with ur darling little girl. I grew up in Sugar city and know many off those that pray for ur sweet family. When I read ur blog my heart broke for ur family and I couldn't help but wish there was more I could do for you and ur little girl. Words of comfort and prayers r in my heart for u daily. It is amazing to me that no matter the trials we are faced with Our Savor is there to comfort us, and I can't imagine being placed to face what ur family has. The blessing of being a parent myself to a beautiful little boy who is 2 and a 3 week old makes me look at them as if what if this is my last moment, ill forever be thanking ur family for showing such faith. It is a testimony builder for me... U r living every parents worst nightmare and from the look/sound of it are filled with such strong spirts ur selfs no wonder ur little angel is such a fighter. Our Heavenly Father may not always answer our prayers the way we want, but he hears us and will always be the comfort u need in ur struggles. I know God lives and loves his children, I KNOW with all my heart that we will have our families forever as long as we strive and live to Gods commandments. I KNOW God will carry u through. I can't help but feel love for ur family and will keep u all in my prayers day and night. No matter what, u will always have ur sweet baby girl. I send my love and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI heard about sweet little Preslee through a friend on Facebook. I am keeping Preslee and your entire family in my prayers. As a mother, this breaks my heart. Know that God has a plan for each of us and that he will bring you through this. May God bless you and keep you. ~Mary
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through another blog and I just wanted to let you know how incredibly touched I have been by your family and little girl. I have a little boy the same age as Preslee and can't imagine what you guys are feeling. I have been and will continue to pray for your family. Stay strong.
ReplyDeleteI found you through a facebook comment and I have been checking in hoping for good news. I have been praying for you every day.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through another blog also and just want to tell you that you have many prayers coming from Indiana. As a mother of two young children, my heart is especially going out to Ashley and the bond she has with her baby. God bless your family and you have our continued support.
ReplyDeletePatrick, Ashley, and family.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is breaking for you as I read the most recent update on Preslee. I wish there were words I could say to comfort you and bring you peace this morning but I know there are none adequate.
Your family is in my prayers and I know the Lord has his hands on Preslee; may He continue to bring you comfort as you face this trial.
Every ounce of love in my heart,
Karen
I don't know your family but my heart is broken for all you have been through. You are constantly in my prayers, day and night and I see God's grace abound in your faith. I'm still praying for a miracle for baby Preslee but I know God will either heal her here on earth or in Heaven for a complete healing!
ReplyDeleteI read through your posts this morning and I prayed. It states in the gospels that "Jesus healed them all". We are also told that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Whatever the signs may appear to be, "Jesus healed them all". And that is my prayer for your sweet baby girl today.
ReplyDeleteMarci
I, as well, discovered your blog via facebook and although we are strangers I wish I could hug you, we are family in Christ and it brings me great peace to see the strength that our Lord has blessed you with! I have cried, prayed and shared your story with family and friends. You and your precious Preslee are in my thoughts and prayers! May God continue to give you strength and healing, in his love, Rachael
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful example of faith through these last few days. Our love and tears and prayers are with you and your family. We know that our Savior and loving Heavenly Father will surround you with all the peace and strength you need to accept whatever his plan is for you and your sweet Preslee.
ReplyDeleteWith love,
the Ballard family
I have been so touched by your story. I check your blog a couple times a day to see if there are any updates. I also found your blog via facebook and I have posted about your blog today to ask for more prayers for little PReslee.
ReplyDeleteI can not imagine watching my child fight for their life and you guys have shown that you have a great deal of faith and hope..no matter the outcome. I know that Preslee's precious little spirit will continue to fight and I hope there is a miracle in your behalf. Thank you for your example of courage, love and never ending faith.
I pray you find comfort from our Heavenly Father. Thank heaven this is not the end and families can be reunited once again.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
ReplyDeleteThis is when I am so glad that I know of the Plan of Salvation. You are very much right, when you said that Preslee's valiant little spirit is just staying with you to remind you that this is NOT the end.
ReplyDeleteBoth of you have such a possitive outlook on this situation, no matter how tough it is on you. I cannot imagine being in your situation, and it has taken me a while to gather my thought for you.
My family continues to pray for Preslee and the two of you that you can make righteous decisions in behalf of your beautiful daughter.
Remember that Heavenly Father knows each of us better than we know our selves, and he knows what we can handle, he wouldn't EVER give us anything that we can't handle. Preslee knows that you love her very much, and would do and have done EVERYTHING in your power to make her pain and suffering go away.
Your little family has so much love and support, it is amazing how much your little angel baby has touched hearts from all over the state, country, and even world. Thank you for your bravery, and your testimony. We will hope for the best. Again, like you said, this is not the end. It is just the beginning.
Much Love,
The Phillips Family.
Praying for sweet Preslee and you guys
ReplyDeletetoo. Your family has touched my heart.
I am holding my children a little tighter. I am so sorry that you have to go through this.
God bless.
My prayers and thoughts are with your entire family. I am so sorry that is all I can do.
ReplyDeleteI went through a similar experience with my dad after a brain injury. We were very hopeful that he would pull through but after a few days we could feel that he was struggling with staying and we had to let him go. It was one of the most sacred experiences of my life and one of the hardest, I can't even imagine going through that with my child. With all my heart I hope you will feel peace through this, you are in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is breaking for you guys. Be strong, and know that the Lord loves you.
ReplyDeleteI know this doesn't make it any easier, but remember that "If the Lord brings you to it, He will help you through it". Our prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteThis conference address was so comforting to me when I was waiting to see what would happen to someone I loved. I think it really appies to what you are going through too. It is called "But if not" by Elder Lance B. Wickman. You can listen to it here:

or read it here

I highly recommed the audio version.
Your family and sweet Preslee are in my prayers.
You have been in our thoughts and prayers constantly this week. What a special little spirit Preslee is. We hope and pray for your family that you may find peace no matter what our Heavenly Father's plan for your family. Interesting that someone else posted the words of the song "For Good" from the musical "Wicked", because that has been something we have discussed this week about Preslee as well. Preslee has changed many lives for good and has left handprints on many hearts. God bless your family with all that lies ahead. You are great examples of faith and courage. Joel and Lisa Judkins family
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine what you are going through -- but your faith in our Father is very apparent -- please know that Preslee is constantly in our prayers and we are still praying for a miracle for your precious child.
ReplyDeleteCindy
I am so sad reading this, and can't even imagine how hard it is for you. I am glad that your faith is not dependent on outcomes and that you have gathered so much strength from your Heavenly Father in this tragic time. I pray that you all may have continued comfort, peace and understanding. I know he has been leading you by the hand and he will always be there for you. We love your sweet little family. Preslee is such an angel.
ReplyDeletemy prayer is that gods will be done. he knows all things and he is all powerful. may he comfort your precious little girl and her family.
ReplyDeleteI realize that nothing anyone says can probably ease any of the pain your are feeling right now. I couldn't and wouldn't ever want to imagine the sadness you are feeling and will possibly feel for a long time. I have been praying and hoping that Preslee would just all of a sudden be ok and that you could take her home- just as nothing had happened. After reading this, I have been crying and crying-- Imagining as it was one of my own, which was a horrible thought! I just want you to know that so many people have been touched by your story. So many will hold their little ones tighter and be a little more kinder to the ones we love because we just never know... We will all hold on as long as you do and pray for a miracle. However, we realize that our loving Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and blessings can be made out of struggles and trials we have to go through. Try to smile during these hard times-- By the pics, it looks as if you have and I think you are a courageous person by doing so!! I won't stop thinking of your little family and little Preslee.
ReplyDeletePat and Ashley - you are such an example of faith, strength, and character. Preslee has touched so many lives and she will continue to do so. You are truly an amazing family and our thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace are with you.
ReplyDeleteI also saw your story posted on facebook and have been checking your blog daily for updates. I have shared your story with others and we have all been praying for Preslee and your family. I am hopeful that the prayers and well-wishes from all over are warming your hearts and providing some comfort. We continue to pray for you guys!
ReplyDeleteI think of little Preslee every day since I learned of her tragedy. This story has left me speechless and hoping against hope for her recovery. What a strong family you have - you certainly deserve a miracle more than anyone right now, and I pray that it comes soon.
ReplyDeleteTears are flowing down my face at the thought of you losing your little Preslee. As a mother of a 11 month son, I can't even imagine the pain and sadness you must be going through. I am praying and hoping for a miracle - and have been praying all week for your family. I am not as strong as you both are and she's not even my daughter. Your examples are so humbling and inspiring. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and to know that families can be eternal - but my heart is truly aching for your family. Please keep us updated, and I hope, for your sake and all of the strangers like me around the world who have been following your story, Preslee's plan changes and she can stay happily and perfectly on this Earth life. ;) But Heavenly Father does know what he's doing - and while we may not be able to understand it, or want to accept it, he is a God of miracles, and if she is supposed to live, she will. I just hope that my plan for your family, is the same as His. Please hang in there and keep us all updated.
ReplyDeleteThough we don't know the plans of our Heavenly Father, I find great comfort in Him and his plan. I have a great knowledge that families are forever, and I know that your cute little family will be in tact, on the other side if, little Preslee chooses the spirit world. My heart is breaking for your little family, and would like to continue to offer you my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we're graced with the presence of angels, borrowed from Heaven, to fill our lives with love.
ReplyDeleteMay your hearts be full of the love that Preslee has given you. May her grace, love, and spirit guide and comfort you through these days. Be reminded, no matter what happens, that such a little girl can remind the world that love is so great.
Best wishes and blessings,
Danielle
You and your little Presslee are so loved.

I have nothing new to say that hasn't been said, but wanted to let you know that I, too, have been thinking and praying for you and your family since I heard of your story.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin had a very similar story a few years ago, so it feels like it hits close to home.
My God give you the strength and comfort you need.
I will not stop praying for little Preslee until the Lord confirms to us that she is needed with him. It's times like these that Heaven seems so close and so intimate. You two and Preslee have changed our lives. May today be a bright.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any words. Your faith and strength are an amazing example. My God bless you and keep you.
ReplyDeleteWe are all praying for you and your dear little Preslee. We are praying for a miracle. May you find strength and comfort in the knowledge our Heavenly Father's Eternal plan.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you all and keep you strong in the days to come. I am amazed and inspired by your strength and faith in the face of this tragedy, and have been keeping your sweet baby Preslee in my thoughts and prayers.

Me and My Family will keep praying! I wish i lived closer so I could help!
ReplyDeleteI pray for your family each night. You guys are such a great example to all of us. My husband and I are about the same age and you guys and I can't even imagine making the mature decisions you have made. Preslee truely is such a special spirit. She is a creation of our Heavenly Father. About a year and a half ago, my father in law passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) We had only been married for 3 months at the time. It was such a difficult time for both of us, but when he was in the hospital that last time, he was in a comma and it was like he was waiting for us to know that it was all going to be alright. My husband's father's spirit visited him in a dream that night and he knew he needed to let go. You will know when it is time that Heavenly Father is ready for you to let go. Until then, keep the strong faith that you have been showing. Through the death of my father in law, we have learned so much about the love of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. They love us so much. As crazy as it sounds, they love us more than the love that you have for little Preslee. Their hearts hurt for you guys, but they know the big picture. This life is such a small part of the big picture. You two have been married in the temple and little Preslee is sealed to you. She loves you so much and knows everything will be ok. We love you so much! Thank you for your example!

I can't even begin to imagine going through this rollercoaster with one of my children. Your whole family has been rock solid throughout this whole time. Everyone has been and will continue to pray for Preslee and your family. I can only hope and pray that if I were to ever have to be put in your shoes with my children I could be as strong and hopeful as you have been.
ReplyDeleteJessica Walker
We will continue to pray for you and your family and for little Preslee. We will pray for you to have the strength to deal with what you are faced with.

ReplyDeleteI found your blog through a post my friend made on FB at the beginning of the week and I've been reading about little Preslee's progress. I got home from a mtg late last night and read this post before I went to bed and my heart just aches for you and I was thinking about your sweet family all night... wondering what on earth someone could say to comfort you... but I did pray for just that. That your family would be comforted at such a trying time. If little Preslee does go to her Father in Heaven, you know she will be welcomed with open arms and what a sweet assurance that is. My cousin passed away 11 yrs ago today and it will always be difficult, yet you learn to tolerate the heartache. However,I have felt her protection over me during many times since she passed and I've felt the sweet and simple truth of the gospel through my prayers. What a blessed family you will have to have a sweet little angel always watching over and protecting your family and the sacred experiences you will have throughout your life because she is there. I know it sounds crazy since I've never experienced what you are going through but my little boy is 2 months older than Preslee and your experience has reminded me once again what a wonderful blessing little children are. This may sound silly, and maybe you are excellent journal keepers... but I'm not. I just would tell you to write down everything that comes to you about little Preslee so that you will always remember them. You will have sacred experiences and they are things that we should keep sacred and close to our hearts. Those experiences will bring you such great joy in the future. I wish the best for sweet Preslee and your family in the days and decisions to come. Also, thank your for sharing your experience. What a great example you all are!
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful example of strength and faith to so many. May you continue to feel of our Heavenly Father's comfort, peace and love. With love, Dave and Barbara Hansen
ReplyDeletePrayers for Preslee and all who love her.
ReplyDeleteOur family has been praying for Preslee and your family. No matter what happens, I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for her and is watching over all of you. We will continue to pray for Preslee. Lots of love!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine the pain and heartache you must be feeling at this time. I know how my heart aches for you and I don't even know you personally. I am so sorry that this had to happen. So, so sorry. But what a blessing it is to know the true plan of our Heavenly Father. How He loves us. I am amazed at the love of the community and how everyone is pulling together to help Preslee.
ReplyDeleteI know that Heavenly Father is thinking of your family at this time and is so aware of what is going on. I pray that you will feel His love, no matter what happens
Hello, My name is Heather Miller, I do not know you or your family, but want you to know that Me and my family will be praying for your sweet little girl, Preslee at this time. I am truly so sorry that you have to go through this, as a mom of two beautiful kids, I cannot even begin to imagine experiencing such a thing as this. We will keep praying for her. Our thoughts are with you. Love The Millers from Rigby. :)
ReplyDeleteStill praying for Preslee to be able to keep fighting and for your family to be comforted in this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteWe love you. Thank you for being such examples of strength in the face of adversity to me. These past few sacred days as I have followed your story, it has really given me cause to analyze how I want to better handle my own situations...more like you both (and your many sweet family members). You have all shown so much hope and faith, I am a better person for crossing your path. What a beautiful family you are. Hugs to each of you.
ReplyDeletelove,
Tiffany
what an example your family is of such great faith. my heart truly goes out to you guys and i can't even begin to comprehend what you're going through. i pray you will feel the comfort of our Heavenly Father and Savior. what a comfort the blessing of eternal families is. we will continue to pray for your family and little preslee.
ReplyDeletePraying Psalm 91 over your baby girl and for your family.
ReplyDeleteI am good friends with your friend Andrea Hancock. I just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this time. I am so sorry for the heartache that you are suffering right now, I wish I could give you words of comfort, but I know there is nothing that can be said to take away the pain. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you.
ReplyDeleteLife is such an up and down roller coaster isn't it? As the saying goes, things get worse before they get better, perhaps...perhaps...this may be the case. I pray it be so. Our Holy Father has a plan for everything and everyone in our lives, although we don't understand it and it sometimes tears us from deep within He knows the outcomes of the events set into motion. Little Preslee has already touched so many lives all over this world. Whatever The Father decides He will hold her close and you as well.
ReplyDeletePrayers for little Preslee. Prayers for ya'll, for strength, peace, and faith unwavering.
I, like many others, am sending my thoughts and prayers your way. The most fervent prayer is that you are able to find peace in whatever may come.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what words to say to you guys to help you through this difficult time! I just know that your dear little Preslee has touched so many lives throughout the world! Maybe that was the miracle.... It is so wonderful to see your amazing testimonies and strength! What an amazing family you guys are and such great examples to us all! Preslee and your family have brought many of us closer to our Savior as well as closer to our children and our loved ones! It is wonderful to know the pLan of Salvation and to see that you are trusting in the Lord and putting Preslee's little life and spirit in his hands! My family will continue to keep you in our prayers!

I know that feeling. I honestly do. And although it has never been easy, those 44 days that we had with our son, 37 at home {which were all a miracle}--- changed our lives FOREVER. Preslee is beautiful and so are YOU. Feel free to peek at our story.

ReplyDeleteWith all of the comments of how strong you have been I hope that you know that it is human to hurt and cruble a little. Just remember that there is a solid foundation under you and return to that knowledge. He will be there to put you back together when you fall apart, and the rest of us will be here to keep the pieces together. I dont know you personally but feel touched by your spirit. you are a wonderful example and as many have said, you have taught us to take those little moments and treasure them.

Thank you so much for being such great examples! Hugs and Prayers sent your way!
ReplyDeleteWith 143 comments I don’t know if you will even have a chance to read this. But I would feel very ungrateful if I didn't express a few of my thoughts. A few months back I had a Nephew who got really sick. Though he still fights the sickness every day he has done amazing things for our family. Him and Preslee choose these trials in the premortal existence for all of us. They are Very Very special spirts of God to make us better people. Preslee has done just that for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your strength and sharing her with us. Whatever the plan is for her, she has made thousands and thousands of parents grateful for what they have. Luke Grover
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for all that you are going through right now. Your family has been constantly on my mind and in my prayers since I heard about Preslee, many of my friends from around the country have been praying for your family as well.

From one who knows how your heart feels right now, I am sending huge prayers your way. I was in those shoes 2 years ago. Though my daughter never did awake from her comatose state and died after 2 days. I know the struggle of facing that life or death emotional torture of a roller coaster.
ReplyDeleteIn the end, no matter the outcome, the Lord will be with you and you will eventually be okay. Prayers for the best possible outcome for you.

ReplyDeleteLike many of the others that have commented I don't know you personally, but I too have been touched by your family & sweet little Preslee. Your family is in my thoughts and my prayers. Being a parent is such a humbling experience. Our Father in Heaven entrusts us with his precious children. A task that can a times feel overwhelming but he is always there. His plan for Preslee included blessing her with amazing parents to be by her side through anything that she must face. This is not only an example of the love the he has for her but also of love he has for you. He gives us strength & then stands by our side just in case. I pray that you will not only feel of his strength but also of his presence. Families are Forever
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry.

ReplyDeleteDear Pat and Ashlee,
ReplyDeleteI hope this comment isn't too much right now. I don't know you, but my heart is breaking for you. I know this is long, but scriptures can pull us through times like this.
Thinking of you and sweet Preslee. Just want you to know that your family hasn't left my mind since the beginning of this trial. I find myself often throughout the day literally praying aloud to Heavenly Father to heal Preslee. I have also been studying about faith in Ether. If you get a minute then chapter 12 versus 6-19 really remind us that miracles can occur when we have faith. Many wonderful things have been brought to pass that at times may have seemed impossible. Continue to have faith and be believing. Please know that my husband and I are truly pouring our hearts out to the Father in Preslee's behalf.
Keep the faith and keep fighting.

“Commune with the Lord. … He is your best friend! He knows your pain because He has felt it for you already. He is ready to carry that burden. Trust Him enough to place it at His feet and allow Him to carry it for you. Then you can have your anguish replaced with His peace, in the very depths of your soul”

Ashley, I am not good with words, but I want you to know that I love and care for you and your family so much! Little Preslee has changed my life for the better and so have you! I admire your strength so much! When Cole passed away, you wrote me a message. You were there for me and your heart ached for me. Preslee is a beautiful little angel. We will continue to pray for Preslee and your family. Stay strong.

ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have been blessed with such a sweet little angel! You are so lucky to be able to know what "pure" love feels like. To be completely surrounded by it. It is a feeling that I, too will never forget!!!! It is never easy no matter what the circumstances are. You are all in our prayers. You will never know how many lives have been touched and changed forever .....thank you for sharing your lives with so many!
ReplyDeletePreslee has been a miracle in my life. I don't know you but I have followed your story from the beginning. I have prayed and fasted for Preslee. Preslee has taught me what is important in life- family and the gospel of Jesus Christ- thank you for sharing your story during this time- you have touched more lives than you will ever know.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to place myself in your shoes. I'm afraid I would not react with such faith. Your testimonies and strength at such a difficult time are a lesson for us all. May God continue to sustain your beautiful family with an eternal perspective. Our prayers and thoughts are with Preslee!
ReplyDeleteI can't even comprehend what emotions your guys are experiencing. My testimony has been strengthened through yours. No matter what happens to sweet Preslee, Families are Forever.
ReplyDeleteI'm another one of those who have never met you, and just stumbled upon this blog from another friend. My heart goes out to your situation and this sudden accident that brings such intense emotion and feelings of helplessness. I recently lost a little sister and can sincerely relate to your situation. The plan of salvation is more important in your lives now more than ever. Whether you get to keep your precious angel, or whether she returns to her Father in Heaven, she will always be yours eternally. You're in our prayers.
ReplyDeletePat and Ashley-
ReplyDeleteI just found out about your sweet little Preslee. It seems like yesterday that you and MaryBeth and I were all pregnant together. Your little girl is so beautiful and special. You two are going through something I can barely imagine as a mother. What can I say that might ease the emotional turmoil you must be going and growing through? What you are dealing with has got to be excruciating, and I am so inspired by the way you've included the Lord in your suffering and hoping. I don't know God's plan for your family, but I believe with all my heart that he is very aware. I don't know if God will choose to grant her life or take her back into his presence, but this much I do know. He holds us all in his hands, and whether he chooses to tenderly place her back in your capable arms or lovingly cradle her in his own, she will be loved deeper than we can imagine. She was God's before she was yours, and because of our sweet Savior's atoning sacrifice she will always be yours. A God with that kind of capacity to love is worth trusting in. I've been praying for your family all day, and I know he will sustain you and get you through this.
Your friend,
Sarah Benson
I just have to tell you that my heart is aching for you! My sister Jenna knows Pat, and she and I have been keeping a close eye on your blog and calling friends that are close to you to get the latest updates. I've given my own kids extra kisses, and held them a little tighter this week. These experiences teach us all to be more loving and charitable because we don't know what tomorrow will bring.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying hard for you and for your little angel. I hope the spirit is bringing some comfort through it all.

May you find comfort and hope in your faith and family.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are full of such amazing strength. I have cried following little Preslee's progress. She has blessed my life and so have you! You have so much support.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad for you guys. I can't even imagine how you are all feeling. I have a little boy myself and I couldn't grasp losing him. Preslee's spirit is to special to be here on this earth. She is needed in heaven. What a strong little girl! God has a plan for all of us. You will see your little Preslee again...well and happy.
ReplyDeleteI just read Preslee's story and I am heartbroken for your family. I will pray for Preslee and everyone who loves her.

I saw your story on a friends post. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Preslee and your family at this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and your beautiful Angel!
I heard about your baby from a friend. I want you to know that Preslee is in our prayers. My husband and I and our "special needs" son went to the Ogden Temple this morning and I put Preslee's name on the prayer roll. I pray that God will grant you the righteous desires of your hearts. If God decides to let you keep her, it may be even harder than letting her go. May God Bless You and Keep You in His Tender Care, Today and Always!
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts and prayers are with your family on an hourly basis. Thank you for your example of courage and strength. We know that little Preslee is yours for all eternity.
ReplyDeletejason & natalie
All my love goes out to your now. We all now this is not the end but to really let those we love most leave us for a time is a really different. May the Lord let you know you are not alone and give you the strength, faith and courage to endure this trial. It is not the end. Your sweet tiny baby Preslee had affected me so much this week as I daily read your posts. Her valiant spirit will be there waiting for you however this plays out.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying your for beautiful family, you are great examples of strength and testimony. You will always be a family, forever. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers!

Pat & Ashley, I remember the exact feelings you are having in the same PICU. Almost a week after B drown, there was an erie feeling in the room. Things were not looking good for him. We were struggling with difficult decisions. That was when things took a turn for the better. In our darkest hour of our lives, Sara and I learned a valuable lesson, never give up hope. It always seems like we are tried to the core and when we can't stand it anymore... Heavenly Father answers our prayers. Sometime not the way we thought. In fact, most of the time, He answers not the way we thought. But looking back we realize why He answered that way. Just when we were about to give up, Little B didn't. We were so concerned for him. We knew that his body was broken, but his spirit was perfect. We are so concerned about your little family! We love you guys and feel your pain. Keep hoping and trusting. Never give up! Love you guys, Matt
ReplyDeleteI was checking back in to see if there was an update. I hold my breath at the fact that there isn't one.
ReplyDeleteI pray and pray the your daughter will pull through this, but in the instance that she doesn't, I feel compelled to remind you that God's word says that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord". If God should choose to take her back into His presence, that transfer is instantaneous. No waiting for that little darling. God will immediately have her in His care. She will be able to look upon the face of our God, and He hers.
And in that transfer into His presence, she will be given a new body, one with no scratches and bruises, no brain sewlling - nothing! He says that we will receive a perfect body.
I know this can't be of much comfort now, but God forbid, if she is called back to heaven, I hope that these things will eventually give you comfort in the aftermath. Only God knows why these things happen, and it isn't for us as mere mortals to try to rationilize or justify. His ways are perfect and just, even if they aren't our choice of ways.
My heart tells me you are being called to minister to others, and you have already started that by the showing of absolute faith in the face of the most tragic of circumstances.
I don't know Preslee, other than through this blog, but each time I pray for her, I hear the giggle of a beautiful child in the background and I can only believe that it must be the spirit of her personality resonating to all the people praying over her.
I ache for you with such real pain. I cannot imagine being in your position and being able to hold my own head up. May God truly bless and keep your family held tight in His arms.
You have many people praying and hoping beyond all hope that you will be able to have a positive outcome.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you are. The Lord sent you a beautiful baby girl. She must be such a strong spirit. Pat and Ashley, you two are amazing. Look at what a great example you have been to so many. We haven't stopped thinking of you and praying. What a beautiful blessing it is to have the gospel and to know you get to be with your sweet baby for eternity.

Fight girl fight!
ReplyDeleteMy heart aches for you. What I have learned about death is that your sweet little angel will always be a part of your life. She had such an important message to give and look at what she has accomplished in her little life. Hundreds of people from all over read this blog, they pray more fervently, they think about the after life and just how wonderful God's plan is. They hold their children closer and they pray for comfort of a stranger. Your little Prselee has touched SO many people. Your little Prselee has helped people find God again. Ans as you wrote so beautifully...She has taught us that this is not the end. You have an amazing daughter and she has touched me so much. Thank you for sharing your story. Whatever the outcome, I pray for strength and comfort for you.
