For Christmas, Patrick's dad and his wife gave all the kids who lived close by (we missed Kash, Cara, Jon, and Wyatt) a trip to Moab in May. Pat and I were so excited, especially since we had never been there and had never done anything like it before.
Wednesday night we dropped Preslee off at my parents. It was the first time I had ever left her overnight, let alone a few days! We wanted to be able to do everything on the trip, including the 7 hour drive without many break downs :) She had the time of her life with my parents and Freckles (the dog below who she crawls all over) And Michele and Layne watched Pog, she seemed to enjoy herself as well with their dog Mattie. She moped for days after we brought her home.
We left early 6 AM from Rigby, picked up Patrick's brother Jamie, and his wife Linsy in Idaho Falls and with a few restaurant/bathroom stops made it to Moab many hours later. We checked into the hotel and hiked to the delicate arch later that evening. It was a great hike, 3 miles in all. I was impressed with Linsy, she was a soldier, over 7 months prego :) The pictures we took in Moab don't do it's justice, it's a pretty place. Later that night the rest of the gang arrived! 11 adults, 2 kids, and 2 babies.
Friday we were able to get into a jeep and go on a crazy jeep ride to musselman arch! It was a crazy bumpy ride, but so fun. Towards the end they even let me drive :) Driving over rocks and crazy bumps and not worrying about ruining your vehicle was great.
This is little Karis. She's in Kindergarten and just too cute. I love it when she sings this song, I had to add it!
Saturday we went Mountain biking! This was my favorite part of the trip. It was a 14 mile long ride and most of it was downhill, so it was wonderful! The last mile was pretty darn steep, everyone but Jamie had to get off and walk...Go Jamie! It was a fun ride, but still challenging. Crew, who is 7 years old, joined us, he's one tough kid, his bike was smaller so he had to pedal while we coasted just to keep up, but never once did I hear him complain! Pat and I both loved it, and decided this is something we would love to do more of.
