Tomorrow bright and early I'll be packing the trailer, (by myself) and rounding the ten girls up for girls camp!! This should be an adventure. And Pat is looking forward to the wonderful week without his nagging wife. (We'll see if he takes that back in a week)
The head camp director had to have a surprise surgery a few weeks ago, so it took her vacation time from work, and she will only be able to hit maybe the last couple of days up at camp, and poor Mitzie somehow managed to break her toes just a few days ago and is sporting a fabulous black boot on her foot!
The other assistant (like me) is taking 18 credits and can't get away for too long! So that leaves me in charge! The lady who was driving the trailer up, (Trucks are hard to come by in this ward) has come down with a huge ear infection and could lose her equilibrium??? Something like that, so she canceled on us yesterday. So, tomorrow morning I'll be there, hopefully someone who can drive the trailer will show up. I just want you to know I don't know how to get there, (I asked for directions today)Hopefully the garmen will come in handy tomorrow. I don't have a clue how to set up the huge tents. I've never cooked on a dutch oven, and to sum it up, I have no idea what the heck I'm doing. (My girls camp experience was cabins, with a fridge, it wasn't camping!) But ya know what, what the heck, Between me and 10 other girls we should be able to figure it out right? Wish me luck!
Don't get eaten by a bear!! If you need my help I'm a certified Hunter so I could possibly help you out! If you can't figure out the tent just sleep under the stars like the good days and beaver dick!!
ReplyDeleteOh Ashley.. you'll have fun! and Good luck with the teenage girls!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe everyone bailed on you - that is crazy that so many things came up so people can't make it. Good luck with everything!
ReplyDeleteCome on....all that time at the family reunion camping didn't teach you anything? haha wish I could be there to help, but I'll be sleeping in my nice bed with a working toilet and a stove (like I cook on it anyways)

ReplyDeleteDude, I was girls camp director when I was in that ward too! I had no clue what I was doing either. The tent thing...let's just say we finally figured it out. Yeah, I totally know where you are coming from, but I did have Mitsi there, so she was able to take over most of it. You'll do great though, I know it! The girls are going to love you!
